South African Hockey Announces SA Indoor Women’s Squad for 2026

South African Hockey has confirmed the SPAR South Africa Indoor Women’s Squad for 2026, following the national selection camp and a highly competitive domestic season.

The squad reflects a group that has consistently delivered on the international stage, blending experienced campaigners with emerging talent as South Africa continues to build on its reputation as one of the leading indoor hockey nations. With a core that has competed at the highest level, the selected group carries both continuity and the hunger to push even further in the upcoming cycle.

Among those named are established internationals Jamie Southgate, Tegan Fourie, Edith Molikoe, Kayla de Waal and Jess Lardant, who have been instrumental in South Africa’s recent success.

The squad also sees the inclusion of a number of players who have earned their opportunity through consistent performances at provincial level, reinforcing the strength of the domestic pipeline and the importance of the Interprovincial Tournament in shaping national selection.

Convenor of selectors Dalan Phillips highlighted the quality and balance within the group, noting the competitiveness of the selection process.

“This is a very exciting group. There is a strong base of experience, but also a number of players who have put up their hands through performance and consistency. The competition for places was incredibly high, and that speaks to the growth of the women’s game in South Africa.”

With preparations now set to begin, the focus shifts to upcoming high performance engagements and international competition, as the team looks to build on its recent achievements and continue flying the South African flag with distinction.
