Savanna Origin of Trails celebrates 10 years of sensational mountain biking in 2023

The Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023! With the festival village based at the Coetzenburg Stellenbosch University, entrants are advised to prepare for a wicked party on and off the bike come Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November 2023.

“We can’t wait to celebrate ten fantastic years of mountain biking at the 2023 Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the event. “It goes without saying that the 10th year celebration will be one for the records. With Savanna as the title sponsor, entrants can look forward to experiencing a party like no other. Stellenbosch’s vast network of world-class and exclusive trails will always be the foundation of the event which already makes it fantastic, but this year we are geared to shake up the magnificent city of Stellenbosch by bringing the ‘MTB Party’ home. Together with Savanna and First Ascent we look forward to taking SA’s ‘MTB Party of the Year’ to the next level in November.”

“We can’t wait to get the ‘MTB Party of the Year’ started,” says Kavir Gangiah, Media, Sponsorship and Events Lead Distell Southern Africa. “We’re still feeling the excitement after the 2022 event. The routes were a treat as always, the vibe on and off the bike was fantastic, the Best Dressed Competition resulted in so many crazy outfits and the Pub Ride through Stellenbosch was a memorable experience to say the least. As it’s the 10th anniversary of the Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience, we are committed to doubling the fun in 2023. It is the ‘MTB Party of the Year’ after-all, and we invite all mountain bikers to join us as we celebrate in true Savanna style”.

“The Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience is a fantastic event on and off the bike,” says Riaan Oosthuizen, General Manager of First Ascent. “We are proud to be the official Technical Apparel Partner of an event that encourages riders to slow down and enjoy the experience. With a foundation firmly set in the outdoors, we are proud to offer each entrant an exclusive First Ascent Rider Jersey as part of their entry. We are also very excited to grow the First Ascent Tented Village in 2023 especially as it’s the 10th year celebration. We can’t wait to once again be part of the experience at SA’s ‘MTB Party of the Year’.”
