The squad features several players who represented South Africa at the 2023 Junior World Cup, bringing valuable tournament experience and leadership to the group.
Daniel Neuhoff, Sian Maart, Jaydon Brooker, and Leruo Dithlakanyane were all part of the side that competed in Malaysia, helping to set the foundation for this campaign. The team is also led by Guy Elliott for a second showpiece event.
Their familiarity with international conditions and intensity will be key as South Africa aims to climb the global rankings in India.
The remainder of the squad represents a new wave of emerging stars who have impressed through national camps and Interprovincial Tournaments. The balance of experience and youthful energy is expected to give South Africa both stability and attacking flair.
SA Hockey Head of High Performance, Reggie Smith, shared his confidence in the group:
“This squad reflects the growth of South African hockey. The continuity from our previous Junior World Cup group gives us experience, while the new players bring energy and hunger. Together, they represent the best of our development pathway and the promise of what’s to come.”
South Africa are in Pool A alongside Canada, Germany and Ireland in the expanded 24 team tournament that gets underway on the 28 November 2025.
