Don your running shoes and make the most of the beautiful winter days in the winelands this holiday and enter the Falke Winter Trail Run at Warwick Wine Estate outside Stellenbosch on Sunday, 9 July.
Appropriately dubbed the wine adventure run as Warwick not only offers magnificent trails and views, but the hospitality at a beautiful site is an absolute pleasure for all ages. The routes will climb on the slopes of Klapmutskop and go towards Le Bonheur on fun single track sections and jeep track through the vineyards – worth braving the winter chill for. Runners can also enjoy a wine tasting at the refreshment station on route.
The cut-off for online pre-entries is Wednesday, 5 July on www.dirtopia.co.za – with limited late entries on race day. Registration starts from 07h45 with the 15km race setting off at 09h00, the 10km at 09h15 and the 5km at 09h30 to be followed by prize giving at 11h00.
Enjoy a recovery massage or wine tasting at the finish while kids roam around in the play area. Warwick will offer coffee, breakfast wraps and croissants, but also visit their website for lunch menu www.warwickwine.com.
Runners will be timed with an Amarider Trail Tag and timing data will be streamed live on www.trailtag.co.za. Runners have the option of renting a temporary Amarider Trail tag at R20 and will be given to you at registration with your race number. The temporary tag will be taken off at the finish line, but if you have a permanent Amarider Trail Tag from previous events bring it along.
