Moorish Idol

This past Sunday saw some great diving in which Brian Sishi completed his first step to becoming a PADI  Scuba Divemaster with Ocean Blue Scuba.  Conditions down in Umhlanga, Durban are getting better by the week. Sunday we experienced great weather conditions, 5 metre visibility and water temperatures ranging from 22 degrees to 24 degrees, depending on the depths we went to.  Not to mention the days are still getting up to 29 degrees in Durban.

All the big fish seemed to be hiding due to the Durban Ski Boat festival however there were sightings of Butterfly Fish, Moorish idols and a beautiful shoal of Fusiliers.  However all was not lost as the Caves and Pat’s place had more to offer with stunning reefs, sponges and soft coral to admire.

Dolphins were also spotted in Vetchies on the way to the site, and there was an awesome display by the NSRI Station 5 to watch as well. Dive season is definitely here, let’s make the most of it.
