2016 is a year many want to see the back of, but for some of us, 2016 was a good year. Picking a top 6 was harder than you might think but here they are listed from six to one.

In January we were hosted by Cricket SA in their hospitality suite and watched the England series while rubbing shoulders with former players and associates. The experience was fantastic, the food and hospitality, not to mention the view of the game is spectacular from the CSA suite, but SA struggled against England and for this reason, the summer of 2016 comes in at number 6.

This year we formed a running club backed by Puma South Africa called #IgniteJozi. We participated in the Wings for Life, FNB 10 and regularly ran in park runs in and around Johannesburg with a bunch of friends. Incidentally, Wings for Life is the last time I saw my friend Gugu Zulu before his misfortune on Kilimanjaro. Here’s my piece on the parkrun at number 5. If you should see anyone wearing clothing with the #IgniteJozi logo be sure and say hello, it’s limited edition kit.

Interestingly, three of the top four experiences in 2016 all revolve around the motor industry. In January we attended the launch of the Mazda MX-5 to the local MX-5 club and couldn’t wait to get our paws on a review vehicle. A week in the MX-5 is my number 4¬†experience of 2016.

In July we flew to Port Elizabeth for the Jaguar F-Pace launch drive. The F-Pace is the first Jaguar we’ve ever considered purchasing. Yes, it’s that good. The experience involved a lot of varied driving and a few laps around Aldo Scribante, our first time on the coastal track.

Right near the top was being involved with the inaugural Premier Hockey League as the official suppliers of images, great to see some of the players we have formed friendships with over the years of shooting hockey and witness the evolution of hockey into the professional era. Images from the tournament can be viewed in our gallery.

The number one experience this year was the Ford Everest launch drive to Limpopo’s Legend Golf and Safari Resort. The vehicle is super, the drive was fairly straightforward but the helicopter flip and the images captured on the flip made it something I’ll remember for a long time.

That’s our 2016 highlights reel with Run Ride Dive, hope to see more of our awesome country in 2017!
