Date: 09 November 2014
Venue: Albert Falls dam & upper uMngeni River
Distance: 26km

The Ozzie Gladwin Canoe Marathon, presented by Parklane SuperSpar, is a one day race hosted by the Natal Canoe Club and is the second seeding race on the KZN calendar for the 2015 Dusi Canoe Marathon as well as having the added importance of being the 2014 KwaZulu-Natal K1 Championships.

With the 2015 Dusi Canoe Marathon being a K1 race the Ozzie Gladwin will provide paddlers of all abilities the chance to get rid of a couple layers of rust which may have built up over KwaZulu-Natal’s river paddling off-season and kick start preparations for the three day spectacle from Pietermaritzburg to Durban in February next year.

Starting on Albert Falls Dam, The Ozzie Gladwin takes paddlers along a 4km flat water lap before running a short 1km portage around the dam wall and then getting back in for 21km of paddling fun on the upper uMngeni river as they wind their way to the finish at Thornvale Farm on the Wartburg Road.
