It’s sexy, it’s hot and it is coming to Cape Town!

The Flying Fish Beach Volleyball 2016/17 season is back after the festive break with the fourth tournament in the series taking place between 26 – 28 January at the University of Stellenbosch.

“Taking the Flying Fish Beach Volleyball brand to the Western Cape is important,” says Gershon Rorich, tournament director. “The majority of the top players are based in Cape Town, and playing in front of their own supporters will be a morale boost for them.”

Two-time tournament winning combination of Leo Williams and Grant Goldschmidt eagerly anticipate playing in front of their home crowd. Williams and Goldschmidt both hail from Cape Town and while they enjoy travelling the country, the pair relish the idea of playing at home and impressing their local fans.

“The Flying Fish Beach Volleyball series is an amazing platform for us to test our mettle against other top volleyball players,” says Williams. “Playing in front of our own supporters is always memorable and makes this tournament that more special for us.”

Williams and Goldschmidt won the opening tournament at UP-Tuks and backed that win up by claiming the Limpopo leg as well. The pairing narrowly lost out on a third consecutive title, when they were beaten in the final by the seasoned duo of Colin Pocock and Casey Augoustides at the Tshwane 10s.

Supporters can look forward to some exciting match-ups on the court while the entertainment off the sand will be equally exhilarating. #Flavourfontein, volley-pong, live music, DJ’s and sizzling bodies along with the hot volleyball action promises to keep everyone entertained while the top players battle it out. Entrance is free, but do come early to get that good view and enjoy an ice cold Flying Fish.
