In October eight riders from South Africa traveled to Lake Havasu City, Arizona USA to compete at the 2014 IJSBA Jettribe World Finals.
The Jet Ski World Finals take place over a week long grueling competition, during whih the riders try claim glory and the title of World Champion. A total of 32 countries from around the globe participated at the 2014 event, which is held annually in the small lakeside city of Lake Havasu. the combined efforts of all the South African riders place SA 10th overall in the 2014 Nations Cup.
The World Finals began on the 6th of October 2014, the beginning of the week consisted of the following categories: Amateur, novice, expert, junior, masters and pro-am. All of the categories are determined either by age of the rider or individual skill of the riders.
The end of the week, 10th-12th of October 2014 consisted of the Pro categories. The South Africans did exceptionally well as the results below testify.

John de Ponte – 6th Novice Ski
Marcel de Ponte – 12th Amateur Runabout
Shante’ Bukes – 2nd Woman’s Runabout Limited & 4th Amateur Runabout
Tyron Motzouris – 16th GP Ski Open & 17th Pro Ski Open
Dustin Motzouris – 2nd GP Ski Open and 4th Pro Ski Open
Jared Moore – 8th GP Runabout open & 9th Pro Runabout Open
Some of these riders will be travelling to Thailand at the end of November to compete at the TJSBA
King’s Cup World Cup GP, wishing all of them good luck.
