PUMA the official technical and apparel sponsor of the Toyota Free State Cheetahs has unveiled a new heritage-inspired Currie Cup rugby kit in the customary white and russet orange.
“As always the Toyota Free State Cheetahs are looking forward to the Currie Cup competition and this year even more so with our new Currie Cup jersey design from our partner PUMA,” said Kobus le Roux, the Marketing & Sales Executive at the Free State Cheetahs. “PUMA has yet again been able to design a new fresh look for the Toyota Free State Cheetahs without changing our unique traditions. Proudly white and orange! Proudly Cheetahs! Proudly PUMA.”
Part of PUMA’s evoPOWER Rugby apparel design, the jersey uses a polyester tight fit material which is lightweight, comfortable and rugged.
“The Currie Cup is an illustrious contest and to honour its proud history we have returned to a classic, clean design for the new Toyota Free State Cheetahs kit,” said PUMA South Africa’s Marketing Director Brett Bellinger. “The team will wear the kit in Currie Cup games over the next two seasons and we wish them well as they chase down the prized trophy.”
PUMA first signed a commercial agreement with the Free State Rugby Union in October 2010 and has been the official technical and apparel sponsor of the Toyota Cheetahs and Toyota Free State Cheetahs throughout this period, with the Cheetahs wearing PUMA kit during the Super Rugby, Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup tournaments.
The new Currie Cup shirt has a recommended retail price of R649 and will be in-store from 1 August 2014. Available at PUMA Retail as well as select retailers nationwide. Call PUMA on 021 551 0832 for more information. Follow @PUMASouthAfrica to join the conversation.
