The tension is building here between the three of us especially after last week’s unusual three way tie after Dirk had started gloating on twitter before the final match, which Tyron correctly predicted to level the scores. All things considered we had a poor round, Tyron dropped 3 places from first in the Superbru group (sign up now, still lots of games to make up points), while i dropped 5 places to 15th. Remarkably, Dirk climbed 6 places to 67th. Our new pool leader is David Ahlschlager, closely followed by regular top spot contender Andre Ernstzen.
Dirk can’t join us this week because of ‘work commitments’. The reality is he’s gone into massively deep depression with the injury to Aguerro which might keep him out for up to 2 months with a rib injury. Tough luck Dirk, points nuls.
RESULT: Huddersfield 0 – 4 Spurs
Huddersfield 0 – 2 Spurs
Huddersfield 0 – 2 Spurs
Huddersfield’s early premier league form is long gone and Spurs are finding their stride, at least in away games. Kane to score at will.
RESULT: Bournemouth 0 – 0 Leicester
Bournemouth better at home than away, Leicester better two years ago than today. Hard to pick a winner, so I wont.
Leicester are back to being woeful. They’ve sold too much quality and purchased too little in the way of replacements.
RESULT: Man Utd 4 – 0 Crystal Palace
Lukaku to get on the scoresheet. Manchester United to be praised. Damnit, rightfully so.
I’d go for four nil but I think Palace are going to park all the buses they can find in front of goal to try save some dignity. Once the first one goes in though, the match will open up and it will be one-way traffic.
RESULT: Stoke 2 – 1 Southampton
Stoke will bounce back from the Morata mauling and must surely back themselves as favourites against a Southampton side who score less goals than I do
More a result I want than one I believe might happen. The Saints should be better than they are at the moment. Stoke at home are better than the 4-0 hammering they suffered against Chelsea.
RESULT: West Brom 2 – 2 Watford
Again I think Watford have potential to be devastating at times. But West Brom are pretty resolute at home and this game has all the hallmarks to be forgettable
At home the Baggies are almost a sure thing. Watford can be a nuisance but I think Pulis is still working his charges hard in search of those forty points to be safe.
RESULT: West Ham 1 – 0 Swansea
West Ham 2 – 1 Swansea
West Ham showed glimpses of their ability against Spurs. Against a lesser opposition they should have enough to win the game
West Ham to win their second match of the season and move out of the bottom 3. Swansea are just toothless.
RESULT Chelsea 0 – 1 Man City
Man City are outstanding right now and absolutely devastating in attack. Chelsea had a tougher mid week game. This should be a cracker that I know Dirk will predict a City win and I expect Sigg to go different. Could this be this weeks decider?
Tough to call with both sides scoring goals at will at the moment but defensively Chelsea are a bit more sound while City are more exciting on attack. Could be a cracking game, could be dull. Draw for me.
RESULT Arsenal 2 – 0 Brighton
Arsenal are slowly fixing their season and will be happy with the four clean sheets in a row. With most of the first team players resting for Europa League it should be a pretty routine victory
Easy home win for the Londoners. Brighton battled their way to a home win against Newcastle last time but were less than convincing. The Gunners have found a bit more fluidity since the Liverpool hiding.
RESULT Everton 0 – 1 Burnley
Surely Everton have turned the corner after the 2-1 win last weekend. They have a good enough squad to win this
Everton should have too much quality for a Burnley team that haven’t won at Goodison in the Premier League era.
RESULT: Newcastle 1 – 1 Liverpool
The home team is undefeated in the last 6 matches between these two and Id really fancy a Newcastle win. But Liverpool have got a Coutinho in form and will likely look to their Brazilian to get at least a point.
The league cup defeat to Leicester would suggest the squad doesn’t have enough quality in depth. Add a trip to Moscow on Tuesday night and I should be rooting for a home win but Newcastle were rubbish away at Brighton last time out and the scousers have good quality in their three front men.

This season we score things a little differently, we’ll award 3 points to the outright winner or 1 each for draws. The loser gets none!
