In the previous edition Tyron wiped the floor with Dirk and myself and we really need to up our game if we’re going to close the gap on the Superbru league table! Well actually, I need to up my game, Dirk must carry on with his thing, hehe. Tyron and I cap the top 10 on either end, his is the illustrious end, mine would be the the position just above bottom half of the Premier League table.
RESULT: West Ham 2 – 3 Tottenham
West Ham 1 – 2 Tottenham
Spurs have really struggled at home this season, but West Ham haven’t been looking good at all. I think Spurs will be happy travellers here and come away with a good 3 points.
West Ham 1 – 2 Tottenham
I dont know if I have said it yet, but I really hate Spurs. That being said this game is not at Wembley so they should stand a good chance. They also seem pretty fired up for London Derbies.
West Ham 1 – 1 Tottenham
Spurs are probably the hot favourites but there’s something not quite right in their camp at the moment. West Ham have won at home the last two seasons in this fixture and with their squad should really perform better than their current league position. I’m basically too scared to pick a winner.
RESULT: Burnley 0 – 0 Huddersfield
Burnley 1 – 1 Huddersfield
Difficult one to call here! Both teams have been punching above their weights this season, and don’t show any sides of dropping off. I think they’ll cancel each other out with a well organised game playing out.
Burnley are incredibly likeable. So too are Huddersfield, but I think the experienced Premier League side will shade this one
Huddersfield had a great star to their campaign but have stuttered more recently. Burnley showed their resilience with a draw at ‘pool. At home they are quite a good team and should prevail.
RESULT: Everton 2 – 1 Bournemouth
Everton 2 – 1 Bournemouth
Everton have lost their way in recent weeks but they’re a good side and at home they should get a much needed win to put them back on track for the season.
Everton to try and tighten up. Bournemouth are not very good on the road. Expect this one to be as ignited as fireworks left in the rain.
Surely, the slide at Everton can’t continue? Time for the big girl undies for the Toffees. Knuckle down and make a win happen.
RESULT: Man City 5 – 0 Crystal Palace
Man City 3 – 0 Crystal Palace
City’s attack in this form must be extremely excited about facing Palace at home! Easy, easy win for City.
Maybe more. Crystal Palace are to football what fidget spinners are to life. Useless.
City are free scoring at the moment, so 5’s and 6’s could be on the cards. Palace desperately need their better players fit and to put in a shift.
RESULT: Southampton 1 – 0 Man United
Manchester clubs dont’ look like they’ll stop winning right now and this should be a quite comfortable win for United.
Southampton are pretty resolute and tough to break down, but Mourinho’s men keep going to the last minute, so Id back them to stick away one or two late goals
The Saints are always a tough competitor. I think they’re good for at least one goal (remember the League Cup final?).
RESULT: Stoke City 0 – 4 Chelsea
I think that Stoke can prove a nuisance like they did against United and get a good point at home.
Its an interesting match because Chelsea are not fully firing yet. However Hazard is returning, Morata is settling and Fabregas is creating. Narrow victory for the champions
I expect Chelsea to do what Manchester United couldn’t. Stoke have won this fixture at least once in recent times but Chelsea should overwhelm them.
RESULT Swansea 1 – 2 Watford
I think both teams will improve as the season goes but I think right now they won’t be strong enough to get all 3 points.
I want Swansea to win after their impressive display against Spurs, but they are lacking fire power and as such I think another hard fought draw will go down like a Springbok in New Zealand, very well.
Really tough match to call. Swansea can’t score lately and Watford just got molested by a rampant City. Can Watford recover some confidence here? I think they’re more likely to score than a toothless Swansea.
RESULT Leicester City 2 – 3 Liverpool
I feel like Liverpool should be winning here but they have fallen from form quite badly and having lost to Leicester in mid-week it feels like the team experience some dejavu here!
Liverpool are going to a tough place to play, this usually brings out the best in them. They cant defend but can attack and Coutinho will surely be better this week. Of course as I said last week, they will probably stuff this up!
I really enjoyed the League Cup outing on Tuesday. To be fair Liverpool played a youth team and once Coutinho went off they were rubbish, but until that moment the second string Leicester team were just hanging on at Anfield. More of the same please.
RESULT Brighton 1 – 0 Newcastle
Ideally Chris Hughton would get the 3 points against Newcastle, his old club, but Benitez has this Newcastle team gelling and moving up the table. They should be getting 3 very important away points here.
What about a match winning goal for the Toon’s skipper… I mean they say it comes in threes
I can’t see anything but a Newcastle win here. Benitez is back to winning ways and Brighton are little more than a sleeping policeman on the road to mid table mediocrity.
RESULT: Arsenal 2 – 0 West Brom
Arsenal have been far from their best but they should sneak it past West Brom here. 1-0 to the Arsenal here for me.
As standard as Monday night fixtures get. Arsenal to win, build confidence before throwing it away again (The performance against Chelsea is the minimum fans want, a little bit of heart!)
I’m expecting a red card in this game, or two. Workmanlike WBA just not good enough on their travels to flair teams like Arsenal.
We would like you to join us in the Superbru leagues ->> just click on the tab to go see the league table and sign up.
This season we score things a little differently, we’ll award 3 points to the outright winner or 1 each for draws. The loser gets none!
