Knysna, South Africa – The fast-paced PUMA Nightcat Dash took place at the majestic Conrad Pezula Field Of Dreams (Knysna) on Wednesday, 08 July 2015. Ettiene Plaatjies successfully defended his title in a lightning fast time of 04 minutes 46 seconds, while Bianca La Grange claimed the top spot on the podium in the women’s race in an impressive time of 05 minutes 53 seconds.
PUMA Nightcat Dash participants needed to complete a 1,5km run (+- 750m up and then back down one of Conrad Pezula’s infamous hills). The race took place in heats, with the fastest runners advancing to the semi-finals.
“The PUMA Nightcat Dash was great,” said Plaaitjies. “I was a little worried about slipping as the ground was wet due to the rain. The vibe at the race was really nice. I’ve made a lot of new friends. I really enjoyed the social aspect, while it felt really good to successfully defend my title”. Altus Schreuder came in second, while Clinton Hill finished third.
According to Le Grange the PUMA Nightcat Dash was really easy. “This was the first time that I took part. I heard about the event from my coach, Hans Van Der Veen. I really enjoyed it. The best part was definitely running down the hill”. Adrienne Eley came in second, while Anita Britz finished third.
The top three finishers in both the men’s and women’s races took home prize money, while lucky draw prizes included stunning PUMA product as well as PUMA Nightcat product.
The PUMA Nightcat Dash forms part of an illustrious line up of Stillwater Sports events taking place as part of the much loved Pick ‘n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival.
