Run Ride Dive News You have 24 hours in a day. There are 1440 minutes in every day. The excuse that many give for lack of exercise is that they don’t have enough time. Bottom line is that you have as much time as those who train regularly. It always comes down to priorities.

The average Westerner is overweight but doesn’t want to be. The same group complains about a lack of time to train. However the average Westerner watches about 25 hours of TV per week. Just training for 15 minutes three to four times per week will bring about huge changes both physiologically and psychologically. That leaves you with 24 hours or so to watch TV.

• Going on another diet is not going to make the difference either. Over 170 million dollars is spent each day in the USA on weight-loss programs, products and services and yet they are still one of the most obese nations on earth.

• Taking fat burners will increase blood pressure, resting heart rate, core body temperature and risk of heart attack, stroke and death. So that is also not exactly a viable option.

The solution?

1. It is time to call yourself an athlete. You need a mental shift before any physical shift takes place. By calling yourself an athlete you will create a mental filter system that will allow certain behaviors through and reject others. Behaviors such as discipline, watching what food you eat, getting enough sleep will be allowed through the filter and thus become part and parcel of your life. Other behaviors such as eating and drinking too much, neglecting the discipline of early rising will not make it through the filter and thus begin to fall away.

2. Make an appointment to train. It is unlikely that you will look forward to every run, swim or cycle. However when you have made a set appointment it makes it easier to do. You just need to get yourself out the door. After that it’s easy.

Wish you all the best with your transformation.
