PUMA introduced the latest evoPOWER 1.2 football boot with a blazing new make-over inspired by the traditional Japanese dragon, a symbol of speed, power, wisdom and agility. The boot was launched on pitch by Cesc Fàbregas when Chelsea FC faced Manchester United on Saturday night.
The sea pine coloured heel counter features a dragon skin graphic print, while the white formstripe creates a striking contrast on the high risk red upper. The eye-catching boot will be worn by the likes of Olivier Giroud, Mario Balotelli and Dante from next week.
Fàbregas says of the new boot: “As a Spaniard I can’t resist a red boot. It’s really striking and the dragon skin graphic on the heel gives it a special look. It is a real honour to be the first player to wear it, this weekend when we play Manchester United. It is an important match and Manchester will be hard to beat as every point counts so close to the end of the season.”
The evoPOWER 1.2 has innovative technologies made for power and accuracy when striking the ball – inspired by the movement of a barefoot, the boot provides maximum flexibility to increase shooting power.
The boot’s lightweight and super soft upper material stretches in a longitudinal rather than lateral direction, allowing a freedom of movement while maintaining support. Accuracy is further improved with the GripTex print running across the full length of the upper, providing enhanced ball control in all weather conditions. The lightweight AccuFoam lining provides a clean kicking surface for added precision.
The new colourway of the evoPOWER 1.2 boot will be available in-store and on puma.com from 1 May 2015. A full colour aligned collection including training apparel and accessories, shin pads and balls will also be available to purchase from that day.
