Cape Town plays host to the second round of the Monster Energy South African National Motocross Championship.
On 11 April, the best Motocross riders in South Africa will compete at the second round of the Monster Energy South African National MX Championship, sanctioned by MSA (Motorsport South Africa) and takes place at Zone 7, Cape Town.
Round 1 in Harrismith proved to be a real eye opener and a tough race with some massive upsets and some riders taking home some valuable points in their respective championships. However, so early in the season, the titles are still anyone’s to grab and we will also once again welcome the small contingent of riders from countries like Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Botswana to name a few.
Motocross is the most physically demanding sport on the planet. This is due to the extremely high speeds on forever rapidly changing terrain and the sheer carnage that the athletes go through while competing in a flat out 15 – 20 minute race.
Zone 7 will also be transformed into the most spectator friendly venue for round 2! There will be a VIP deck built on the side of the track closest to the main straight to host some very important guests and competition winners. This will allow them to get into the action as close as possible. All fans will have a chance to chat and have pictures taken with the beautiful Monster Girls and the kids will also be able to get signed posters by their local favourite hero’s.
There will also be a Freestyle Motocross display during lunch with some of the countries finest FMX pulling out their newest tricks to please their fans.
Practise kicks off at 8am with the racing the kick off shortly after at 10am, so get the family together and come down to Zone 7 for a great family day out.
There is catering/bar facilities on site. Entrance is R50 per adult and free for kids of 12 years and younger.
If that didn’t get you, then come down for the official SeeWhy After Party which kicks off at 5pm.
We would like to give a shout out to our sponsors for helping us – Monster Energy, Thor, FMF, Bridgestone, Gaerne, Motul, Portable Shade, DC Shoes, Rockwell Watches, Bell Helmets and Pac Rite.
