PUMA has today launched the <\/span>202<\/span>3<\/span>\/2<\/span>4<\/span> Manchester City <\/span>Home<\/span> kit<\/span>, celebrating the 20<\/span>th<\/span> anniversary of the club\u2019s historic move to the Etihad Stadium.<\/span> The kit pays homage to the iconic features of the stadium and is inspired by the jersey worn during the <\/span>first<\/span> season at the new ground.<\/span><\/p>\n

In August 2003, after 80 years at Maine Road, Manchester City made the momentous move three and half miles away to their new <\/span>residence<\/span> at<\/span> the Etihad Stadium. This move marked the start of a new era for the club, defined by new records, new legends, and moments of greatness. The 2023\/24 Home <\/span>k<\/span>it is a testament to this legacy, celebrating the Etihad Stadium and all those who call it home.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>front graphic<\/span> of the new Home <\/span>jersey<\/span> is inspired by the unique<\/span> a<\/span>rchitecture<\/span> of the Etihad Stadium, <\/span>in particular the <\/span>four giant turrets<\/span> visible from the outside of the stadium that<\/span> form tonal stripes on the jersey<\/span>. The postcode <\/span>of the stadium is displayed on the back of the neck to celebrate 20 years at<\/span> City\u2019s new home and the jersey features a white <\/span>V-neck<\/span> collar that is inspired by <\/span>the <\/span>first <\/span>kit<\/span> used in the new stadium<\/span>, <\/span>the 2003\/04 Home jersey<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the kit launch, PUMA and Manchester City invited a selection of fans and club representatives \u2013 including young City fan and City in the Community participant Finlay, CITC ambassador Alex Williams MBE<\/span>, young female fan Esme and Mark McCarthy<\/span> – <\/span>a collector of Manchester City shirts, to feature alongside the men\u2019s and women\u2019s<\/span> first team players.<\/span><\/p>\n

Club Ambassador Shaun Wright-Phillips, who was part of the 2003\/04 team during the inaugural season at the Etihad said, \u201cThe Etihad Stadium plays an important role in Manchester City\u2019s history<\/span>. P<\/span>layers and fans will hold special memories of moments shared there, so it\u2019s fantastic that PUMA has taken inspiration from it for this year\u2019s <\/span>H<\/span>ome kit.<\/span><\/p>\n
