Pink will be the colour of the day on National Women\u2019s Day (Wednesday, 09 August 2023) when thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets of Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban at the much-anticipated Totalsports Women\u2019s Race in support of PinkDrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cPinkDrive\u00a0fulfils a vitally important need in South Africa, and we are proud to continue our support through the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race,\u201d says Nikki Crous, Head of Marketing Totalsports<\/em><\/strong>. \u201cWe are proud to help share PinkDrive\u2019s message that \u2018early detection can help prolong a life\u2019. Runners (and walkers) can also get involved by donating towards the cause when entering the event online. No amount is too small. In addition to this, we\u2019d like to encourage all entrants to wear their pink event tees on event day. Let\u2019s make it a pink Women\u2019s Day to remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Non-Profit Company (NPC), PinkDrive is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Totalsports Women\u2019s Race is an amazing event,\u201d says Nelius du Preez, PinkDrive National Marketing and Event Co-Ordinator<\/em><\/strong>. \u201cNot only does it support Women in South Africa, but it is hosted in three different cities on the same day. This shows unity and that Totalsports and PinkDrive stand together for the health and support of Women. Through this fantastic fundraising opportunity and platform PinkDrive is able to ensure that our service continues benefitting communities across South Africa. The partnership allows us to spread the message that \u2018Early detection will help to prolong life\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPinkDrive will be present at the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, offering FREE clinical breast examinations in our Mobile Breast Health Unit, while educating on the importance of self- breast examinations,\u201d confirms du Preez. \u201cEntrants and spectators are invited to visit our Pink \u2018Shop4Cancer\u2019 that will be clearly visible in the race venue at all three events. There will be an array of fun pink merchandise on offer including tutus, caps, hats and socks to mention just a few items. All funds raised will go towards funding for our Mobile Mammography units.\u201d<\/p>\n

In closing du Preez adds: \u201cWe would like to give our sincerest gratitude to the organisers and sponsors of this iconic Women\u2019s Day celebration that we are humbled to be part of. A special word of thanks to all the entrants. Without your support PinkDrive would not be able to do what we do.
