All-rounder Delmari Tucker delivered a standout performance with both bat and ball to guide World Sports Betting Western Province Women to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over DP World Lions Women in the Hollywoodbets Pro50 final in Durban on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Image supplied by CSA<\/em><\/p>\n Western Province produced a disciplined bowling display to dismiss the Lions for 99 in 29.3 overs before chasing down the target with ease, reaching 100\/2 in 23.6 overs.<\/p>\n After winning the toss and batting first, the Lions struggled to build momentum against a probing Province attack.<\/p>\n Diara Ramlakan provided the resistance with a determined 41 off 51 balls, while Sarah Nettleton added an unbeaten 12 and Sunette Viljoen-Louw chipped in with eight.<\/p>\n However, wickets fell regularly as Province\u2019s bowlers kept the pressure on. Tucker led the charge with an excellent spell of 3\/18 in 7.3 overs, while Caitlin Wyngaard matched her effort with figures of 3\/25 in eight overs.<\/p>\n Miya Lalor also contributed with 1\/18 as the Lions were bowled out before reaching the halfway mark of their innings.<\/p>\n In reply, Province approached the chase with composure despite early strikes from the Lions\u2019 experienced campaigner Shabnim Ismail, who claimed 2\/34 in her eight-over spell.<\/p>\n Faye Tunnicliffe anchored the innings with a steady unbeaten 38 from 57 balls, while Megan Fourie added 20 to lay a solid platform for the chase.<\/p>\n Tucker capped off her impressive outing with the bat as well, scoring an unbeaten 20 off 34 deliveries to help guide her side to victory with more than 26 overs to spare.<\/p>\n Speaking after being named Player of the Match, Tucker reflected on the challenging conditions and her team\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was really hot out there, but we just had to put in the hard work and keep going,\u201d said Tucker.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve worked really hard as a team and sometimes things didn\u2019t go our way, but today it all came together for us.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really happy I could contribute with both bat and ball. The team did really well today and it\u2019s great when everything comes together like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Tucker also praised fellow seamer Wyngaard for her support with the ball.<\/p>\n \u201cI never doubt Caitlin.
