The 2025 edition of the SA Hockey Interprovincial Tournament delivered on every level<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">crowd-lifting upsets, emotional farewells, and moments of brilliance etched in the memories of all who watched.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Header Image: Ray Chaplin Sports Media<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\">Women\u2019s B Section<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">FINAL <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Eastern Province 2\u20131 WP <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Disa<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Eastern Province completed a flawless return to the A Section with five wins from five and a deserved gold medal. A clever finish from Toni Marks just before halftime set the tone, and Jade Singleton added a second in the third quarter. WP <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> pulled one back late via Emily Middleton to make it interesting, but EP held firm to reclaim their spot in the top tier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s5\">B Section Women\u2019s Awards<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Player of the Tournament:<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Toni Marks (EP)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Goalkeeper of the Tournament:<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Kerryn Frost (EP)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Young Player of the Tournament:<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Grace Goodwin (WP <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s5\">)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Top Goal Scorer:<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">Trusten<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Barnard (WP <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s5\">)<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Women\u2019s A Section<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Final \u2013 Western Province 2\u20130 Southern Gauteng<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">The hosts reclaimed their crown with a confident win over their northern rivals. <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Charne<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Maddocks continued her fine form to open the scoring in the second quarter, and Brady Wiseman added a second to seal the result. A flawless campaign sees WP add the outdoor title to their indoor success, completing a historic double.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Bronze \u2013 SA U21 2\u20130 Northern Blues<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">The junior national side ended their dream run with a bronze medal and another big scalp. Jodie Blows struck early before <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Teshawn<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> de la Rey sealed it late on. A fantastic showing that confirmed the future of SA women\u2019s hockey is in good hands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">5th \u2013 North West 6\u20130 WP Peninsula<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">It was a fitting farewell for North West legend Kim <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Hubach<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, who marked her 25th and final IPT in style. <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Tamlyn<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Kock scored a hat-trick to take the golden stick, while Classen, Neethling, and van Niekerk also netted in a dominant display.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">7th \u2013 Free State 5\u20131 KZN Raiders<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">In a shock relegation result, KZN Raiders drop out of the A Section after a heavy loss to <\/span><span class=\"s5\">a fired-up Free State. Burger and Hendricks scored early, and despite a reply from Brooklyn <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Kroutz<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, it was Free State who celebrated after Lisa van der Merwe made it five.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s5\">A Section Women\u2019s Awards<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Player of the Tournament:<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Quanita Bobbs (WP)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Goalkeeper of the Tournament:<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Morgan de Jager (SG)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Young Player of the Tournament:<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">An\u00e9<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">Janse<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> van Vuuren (SA U21)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Top Goal Scorers:<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">Tamlyn<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Kock (NW) &amp; Brady Wiseman (WP)<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Men\u2019s A Section<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Final \u2013 Western Province 2\u20130 WP Peninsula<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">It was an all-Western Province final<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">an \u201cA\u201d vs. \u201cB\u201d matchup<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">delivering a historic moment for the tournament. WP Peninsula held firm for the first half, but in the third quarter, WP&#8217;s class shone through. Mustapha Cassiem and Jacques van Tonder both converted penalty corners to give WP their fourth title in five years and reclaim their 2023 crown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Bronze \u2013 SA U21 4\u20133 Southern Gauteng<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">A seven-goal classic! In a replay of the 2024 final, the juniors came out on top in a back-and-forth thriller. Brett Horn, Ross Montgomery, Reuben <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Sendzul<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, and Carlon <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Mentoor<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> all scored in a game full of heart and grit. <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Southerns<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> fought back with goals from Hermanus, Horan, and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Britz<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, but it wasn\u2019t enough to deny the bronze to the impressive SA U21s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">5th \u2013 Northern Blues 2\u20131 KZN Raiders<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">The Blues edged a tense affair with goals from Caleb <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Arries<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> and Calvin Davis. A late strike by Dylan Ferreira made things nervy, but the Pretoria side held on to finish in fifth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">7th \u2013 Eastern Province 3\u20131 Free State<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Nicholas Kingston produced a hat-trick to guide EP to a final-day victory and avoid the wooden spoon.
