The defending champions clawed back from the brink, the SA U21s continued to light up the tournament, and the hosts remained perfect in front of their home crowd. With the group stages wrapped up in both the A Sections and the B Section finalists confirmed, all eyes now turn to the knockouts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Header Image: Jan Van Zyl Sport<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\">Women\u2019s A Section<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Northern Blues 3\u20130 North West<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Staring down elimination, the Northern Blues reminded everyone why they\u2019re the reigning champions. A composed and clinical performance saw indoor international Laiken Brisset net a brace, and a late strike from <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Cailynn<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> den Bakker sealed their semi-final spot. North West, despite two strong wins, were cruelly eliminated on goal difference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">SA U21 5\u20131 WP Peninsula<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">The Junior Proteas booked their place in the semis in emphatic fashion, outclassing WP Pens. Anja Tromp and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Malikah<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Hamza gave SA U21 a two-goal lead before Lane Barnard pulled one back. But the second half was all one-way traffic\u2014Paris-Gail Isaacs, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Ane<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">Janse<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> van Vuuren, and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Teshawn<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> de la Rey closed out a resounding victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Southern Gauteng 7\u20130 Free State<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">After Tuesday\u2019s heavy loss to WP, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Southerns<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> needed a response\u2014and delivered it in style. Seven goals, including a brace from Bianca Wood and strikes from Hannah Pearce, Kristen Paton, Sylvia van <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Jaarsveldt<\/span><span class=\"s5\">, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Jacolene<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> McLaren, and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Unathi<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Magudulela, saw them power into the semis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Western Province 3\u20130 KZN Raiders<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">WP closed out the pool phase with another dominant display. Goals from Ashleigh Thomas, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Onthatile<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Zulu, and Stephanie Botha inside the first 25 minutes were enough to maintain their perfect record\u2014three games, three wins, three clean sheets. The favourites remain firmly on course.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\">Men\u2019s A Section<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Northern Blues 5\u20130 Free State<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Although already out of the running, Northern Blues ended their campaign on a high with a commanding win. Jack Waddell and Calvin Davis both scored twice, with Caleb <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Arries<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> adding the fifth to complete a professional performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">SA U21 3\u20130 WP Peninsula<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">In a top-of-the-table clash, the Junior Men emerged victorious to finish Pool A unbeaten. <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Litha<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> Kraai broke the deadlock after a cagey first half, and Reuben <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Sendzul\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> late double added gloss to a result that cements their position as genuine title contenders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Southern Gauteng 1\u20131 KZN Raiders<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Southerns<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> needed just a point to secure top spot in Pool B and got exactly that. Liam Hermanus gave them the lead, but Dylan Ferreira responded for the Raiders. The draw was enough to see <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Southerns<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> into the semis as pool winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Western Province 6\u20130 Eastern Province<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Needing a result to progress, the hosts made no mistake. Hans Neethling and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Viwe<\/span><span class=\"s5\">Mbata<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> struck early before Jacques van <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Tonder\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> double extended the lead to four by halftime. Mustapha Cassiem converted a penalty stroke in the second half to wrap up a dominant performance and confirm WP\u2019s semi-final place.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\">Women\u2019s B Section<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Eastern Province 2\u20130 WP <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Disa<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">EP had already secured their place in Friday\u2019s final but made sure of their perfect record with a gritty win over WP <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s5\">. Olympian Toni Marks came alive in the final quarter, scoring twice to maintain EP\u2019s unbeaten and <\/span><span class=\"s5\">unbreached<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">WP <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> 7\u20130 Mpumalanga<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s5\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s5\">With a final berth on the line, <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Disa<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> delivered in spectacular fashion.
