With pressure mounting in the pools and every goal carrying weight, teams stepped up across the board, none more so than the SA U21 sides who responded in emphatic fashion.

Header Image: Ray Chaplin Sports Media

Women’s A Section

Northern Blues 0–4 SA U21
In a tournament-shaping upset, the Junior Proteas stunned the reigning champions with a near-perfect performance. After a disappointing Day 1, the SA U21s were clinical and composed. Ntsopa Mokoena opened the scoring, Olympian TaheeraAugousti controlled the midfield, and further goals from Anja Tromp, Hannah Quinton (PC), and Jodie Blows sealed a famous victory.

Free State 3–1 KZN Raiders
Free State bounced back from their heavy defeat with a spirited performance. A solitary strike from Lize Claasen ensured they remained the only team with a full haul of points in the group.

Western Province 6–0 Southern Gauteng
In a clash of heavyweights, it was the hosts who blew the contest wide open.
