The official\u00a02025 BMX Freestyle South African Championships\u00a0are set to take place at the\u00a0Park Lines BMX Tournament\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday, 7 June. Presented by\u00a0LW Mag\u00a0and\u00a0Dragon Energy\u00a0in association with\u00a0Garmin,\u00a0Balwin Properties,\u00a0Fox\u00a0and\u00a0Mongoose.<\/p>\n

BMX Freestyle riders from all over the country will gather to compete for the title of South African BMX Freestyle champion. The action-packed event will showcase creativity and skill as riders perform tricks and stunts in their battle to win their share of the prize money and to see who will be crowned event champions.<\/p>\n

Park Lines will take place at the newly built\u00a0SkyLab Skatepark\u00a0at the\u00a0Jozi-X Adventure Park\u00a0in Bryanston, Johannesburg. Invited riders from around South Africa will compete in the Pro Division, and the event will allow up-and-coming riders to compete in the Amateur Division.<\/p>\n

The park will offer a range of obstacles for riders to use during their runs. Competitors will go head-to-head in qualifying heats, where judges will consider use-of-park, variation, style, tricks, and amplitude when selecting riders for the Finals. Pro riders will compete for their share of the Cash Prize Purse, a Garmin Instinct 3 Smartwatch, and other prizes from the official event partners.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the Amateur Division, a new Mongoose BMX and further prizes are up for grabs.<\/p>\n

The tournament will conclude with the Best Trick competition open to all competing riders.<\/p>\n

The Park Lines BMX Tournament is a Cycling South Africa and UCI event endorsed by Cycling South Africa.<\/p>\n

Park Lines organiser Ryan van der Spuy says,\u00a0\u201cPark Lines is all about the growth and development of BMX Freestyle locally. Since its inception in 2021, we have done just that: hosting a professionally run competition open to all riders, becoming the official South African Championships, producing South African Champions, and producing the country\u2019s first Olympian in this discipline.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now, we add the opening of our own BMX Freestyle-focused Skatepark, SkyLab, to the mix – the location of this year\u2019s tournament and a park that will be open to all riders year-round. We\u2019re in for a treat come 24 May, and we cannot wait to see who will be crowned the 2025 South African Champions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
