The highly anticipated 2025 South African Longboard Championships, presented by Ryd and sanctioned by Surfing South Africa, is set to return to the iconic Point in Jeffreys Bay from 6-11 May 2025. This prestigious event will see nearly 200 longboard surfers from across South Africa competing for the coveted national titles and a chance to represent the country at the 2026 ISA Longboard World Championships.<\/p>\n
Known for its world-class longboarding wave, Jeffreys Bay offers the perfect backdrop for this long-standing competition, highlighting the nation’s best longboard surfers across many generations.<\/p>\n
Among the returning champions is 2024 South African Longboard Champion, Sam Christianson, who will attempt to defend his Open Men’s title for the fifth consecutive year. Sam’s unmatched dominance in the sport has made him a favourite to watch, and his effort to retain the national title will undoubtedly be one of the competition’s highlights.<\/p>\n
In the Open Women’s division, St. Francis Bay’s Crystal Hulett is also returning to defend her 2024 title. Crystal’s precision and style have earned her a place as one of South Africa’s premier longboarders, and she is expected to deliver yet another inspiring performance.<\/p>\n
