{"id":3574,"date":"2024-06-01T11:56:23","date_gmt":"2024-06-01T09:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.runridedive.com\/?p=3574"},"modified":"2024-06-04T11:58:30","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T09:58:30","slug":"wsb-western-province-women-strengthen-the-squad-for-the-2024-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.runridedive.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/01\/wsb-western-province-women-strengthen-the-squad-for-the-2024-25\/","title":{"rendered":"WSB Western Province Women strengthen the squad for the 2024\/25"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World Sports Betting Western Province Women has turned the focus to the new campaign as they try to build a winning successful team.<\/p>\n<p>Following their successful season, having won the CSA T20 Challenge and finishing in third place in the 50 Overs, Claire Terblanche&#8217;s charges will be eager to pick up where they left off for the new season.<\/p>\n<p>To make that a dream come true and possibility for the ladies team, Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has announced the contracted Senior Women Squad ahead of the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n<p>The squad boasts a great number of retained players and is proud and excited to announce the new additions of former Proteas Women captain Dane van Niekerk, South Africa Women&#8217;s U-19 captain Oluhle Siyo and Rifqah Esau who made her debuts against Fidelity Titans Ladies towards the end of last season. Marizanne Kapp as a National Contracted player has also jointed the family.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton du Preez, WPCA Cricket Services Manager commented: \u201cWe are very excited with our retention plan and with the new additions to our squad, there has been a strategic approach to address areas within the squad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe experience and versatile quality of Dane together with the potential of all-rounder Oluhle brings depth and strength to our squad who has been so successful over the past seasons\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRifqah is a product of successful identification and development within our cricketing hubs and focus school programs, she has grown into a prospect to claim her place within the senior space and to dominate with ball in hand\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJemma Botha our prolific young cricketer has made her mark and has been rewarded with a high-performance contract with a clear intention to further invest in her, this together with retaining Babette de Leede as an international cricketer, gives us great excitement for the upcoming season\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Corrie van Zyl, WPCA CEO commented: \u201c\u201cThe WSB WP squad is a very well-balanced squad with a good mixture of experience and youth. The addition of Dane, who\u2019s international experience and leadership qualities will certainly have a meaningful impact on the team and the development of our young talent within the squad.
