SPAR U13 Hockey Festival Kingsmead

On July 15, eight under 13 hockey teams gathered at Kingsmead College in Rosebank to engage in a day of fun.

Dance offs, war cries and 25 minute hockey matches were the order of the day as the mercury struggled to break free from single digits. Hosts, Kingsmead College were in a pool with Assumption, Roedean and St Mary’s, while pool B was made up of Rivonia Primary, St Katherine’s, In Touch and St Teresa’s.

The format dictated that each team would play three matches in their pool and because it’s a Festival there’s no real winner or loser on the day. The emphasis at SPAR Hockey Festivals is on participation and fun.

A word from Meagan, the Spar Challenge Events Manager on the day:

What a way to start our first ever U13 Girls Spar Day Challenge!
