How do you say no to a rematch request from Jeremy Brockie?
I’ll tell you how in a moment. The Supersport United forward had a fairly good R17 prediction game finishing in 2nd spot between United’s Marcel and City’s Dirk. Final scores were 7/4/1 with Dirk having a complete ‘mare of a round.
Back to Jeremy, you don’t refuse him a rematch. You let him sign up for another beating (I hope).
There are rumours about that Pep will be in the Premier League next season and Jose will be sniffing about for a new club, Manchester United hopefully among the suitors so without wasting any more of your valuable pre-Christmas shopping time, let’s get started.
Jeremy: Stoke – Man U 1-1
Stoke are a tough team to beat this year and have already taken points from some of the big teams. Man U continue to be boring, slow and unattractive under LVG. I leaned towards a Stoke win but I’ll sette with a draw and a well earned point for United haha.
Dirk: Stoke 2 – 1 Man United
I don’t think this is a team that can go to the Britannia in winter and win. LVG has been under pressure and I can see this being another nail in his managerial coffin at United.
Marcel: Stoke 1 – 0 Man United
It breaks my heart but I can’t see LVG turning things around against a spirited Stoke. Mark Hughes will be out to add his former club to his scalp collection and there is no better time since SAF left United. “70 percent possession” and still lose? This is unacceptable. #LVGOUT
RESULT: Stoke City 2 – 0 Manchester United
Jeremy: Man City – Sunderland 4-0
Predicting a big win for City here, Sunderland’s defending is nothing short of woeful at times and City are desperate for 3 points to keep them in close range of Arsenal and Leicester.
Dirk: City 2 – 0 Sunderland
Sunderland face a City team needing a reaction to the disappointing lose to Arsenal. Sunderland don’t have enough about them to put up much of a fight.
Marcel: Man City 3 – 0 Sunderland
City were completely outplayed for most of Monday’s game with Arsenal and yet finished the game as the team more likely to score. If they can cut out the diving by Sterling and Toure and focus on the game they have a very realistic chance of taking the title. Also, Pellegrini is under pressure with Pep Guardiola becoming available in July.
RESULT: Manchester City 4 – 1 Sunderland
Jeremy: Spurs – Norwich 3-1
Spurs for me have far too much quality and will win this comfortably. They will be wanting to push on and make the top 4 their own now. Norwich will be on a high after beating Man United but then again every one is beating them at the moment and I feel Spurs will bring them back to reality.
Dirk: Tottenham 2 – 0 Norwich
Spurs are showing the have real top 4 intentions this season. Even though Norwich had an excellent result against United, I think Spurs will pose a challenge to far for them.
Marcel: Spurs 2 – 1 Norwich
I think Tottenham have too much quality but I don’t think it’s going to be an easy win, possible late winner to settle the match.
RESULT: Spurs 3 – 0 Norwich
Jeremy: Bournemouth – Palace 1-2
This is probably the toughest one to predict this week as both teams have been playing good football and sitting nicely on the table. Pardews experience might be the difference in this affair.
Dirk: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Palace
If Palace get a sticker scoring they’ll be making a few more teams nervous. Bournemouth have been good against the bigger sides, but I think Palace will be too good here for them.
Marcel: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Palace
I really enjoy Palace under Pardew. Great speed, great width & freedom of expression for the likes of Solasie and Zaha. Sure it backfires here and there and they are a little rough but they are 6th on the table level with Spurs and Man Utd. Bournemouth have had their days too but I think Palace have more fight in them.
RESULT: Bournemouth 0 – 0 Crystal Palace
Jeremy: Chelsea – Watford 2-0
I’m picking the new coach affect to kick in here for Chelsea. you always see when a new man comes to a club they go on a nice little run. Although very impressed with how Watford are picking up points this season against big clubs I can see Chelsea taking all 3 here.
Dirk: Chelsea 1 – 1 Watford
A very different kind of Chelsea but there are some of the same lingering problems. Watford on form and can see them taking them close and getting a good point at Stamford Bridge.
Marcel: Chelsea 2 – 1 Watford
Ighalo and Deeney are a dynamic duo, working well together and ruffling a lot of feathers, possibly even Fulham’s greatest club. Chelsea midfielders Hazard and Fabregas seem to have suddenly found their zest for playing football again. Did they plot the downfall of the special one? Regardless, Chelsea home win but not one way traffic.
RESULT: Chelsea 2 – 2 Watford
Jeremy: Villa – West Ham 1-1
Villa got a well deseved point against Newcastle on the weekend and with West Ham still struggling with injuries and form at the moment I can’t see these two sides being separated.
Dirk: Villa 1 – 1 West Ham
Both teams looking for momentum. Expect a frustrating game.
Marcel: Aston Villa 0 – 0 West Ham
Villa are slowly recovering from a dreadful start to the season but are by no means a threat to anyone except maybe LVG’s United. West Ham are struggling without their star play-maker. I can’t see goals in this fixture and will watch something else at all costs on Saturday.
RESULT: Aston Villa 1 -1 West Ham
Jeremy: Liverpool – Leicester 1-2
Its really hard to see anyone taking points of Leicester at the moment especially with the form of Vardy and Mahrez. For me these two players with be very much involved again and are ready to knock off another big reputation club.
Dirk: Liverpool 2 – 2 Leicester
Entertaining high scoring draw for me.
Marcel: Liverpool 1 – 2 Leicester
Comprehensively thumped by Watford and now with a worse record than Rodgers had after 8 games, Klopp really needs to get his team winning and quickly. Unfortunately Leicester aren’t easy pickings and Liverpool will struggle to beat the foxes who are flying high. Liverpool to threaten late in the game. Leicester hold on for all 3 points.
RESULT: Liverpool 1 – 0 Leicester City
Jeremy: Swansea – West Brom 2-0
Two teams that have been up and down this season but with the two player suspensions of Rondon and Mclean, two players that have been in good form for West Brom this season I think they will lack something in the final 3rd and Swansea will take advantage of that.
Dirk: Swansea 0 – 1 West Brom
Pulis will be too shrewd for a rudderless Swansea.
Marcel: Swansea 1 – 2 West Brom
Swansea are poor. One win in the last 13 matches and that against Villa and they still conceded a goal. WBA aren’t wagging the dog by the tail either but 4 wins in the last 13 and a draw with Liverpool just the other day indicate they are by far the better team.
Result: Swansea 1 – 0 West Brom
Jeremy: Newcastle – Everton 1-2
Newcastle don’t know weither they want to start going on a run of games or not so I’ve decided that they are not and the in form man of Lukaku with once again provide the goals for Everton.
Dirk: Newcastle 1 – 2 Everton
Newcastle have had a good few weeks, but this is an Everton team keen to show they’re the real day.
Marcel: Newcastle 0 – 1 Everton
Newcastle have 4 wins and a draw in the last ten outings, they’ve also conceded 5 or more twice in the same run. Everton have won only twice, while drawing 5. And I still think Everton will win this game. Newcastle need to find the form that helped them beat Liverpool and Spurs recently.
RESULT: Newcastle 0 – 1 Everton
Jeremy: Southampton – Arsenal 1-3
Arseanal are serious title contenders this year and they will continue thier assault on the league in fine fashion against Southampton. They still have plenty of players to come back from injury to make the squad even stronger. Could this be Arsenals year.
Dirk: Southampton 1 – 2 Arsenal
Saints have been disappointing and Arsenal have momentum. Expect them to continue their push here with a win.
Marcel: Southampton 0 – 3 Arsenal
Where do you start with Southampton? They have not won a game since November 7th while Arsenal have only lost once in the last 10 games. Hopefully Sanchez is back to make it more exciting but the Gunners have plenty of pace and talent to make it ugly for the Saints.
RESULT: Southampton 4 – 0 Arsenal
Score: Dirk 7 / Jeremy 6 / Marcel 6
