Head2Head with Tyron Barnard

Run Ride Dive Home

This weekend promises to be a really close and tough Head2Head match-up against Jabu (Tyron) from All Things Jabu.

Jabu famously wins his own Superbru group regularly, usually to my detriment but I’ve been putting in the miles at in preparation for this event so here goes. Oh and Tyron is a gunner, so expect hostility towards Man Utd and Spurs.

MS: Bournemouth 0 – 1 Newcastle

I’m starting to feel really sorry for Newcastle fans. I just want them to win enough to stay up and this is one of those must win games to survive.

TB: Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle

Newcastle have been on a poor run of form as have Bournemouth. The Premier League is not a place for sissies and the desire to not lose could cause the two to cancel each other out in a bore draw.

Result: Bournemouth 0 – 1 Newcastle

MS: Leicester City 2 – 1 Watford

Vardy is on a magical run and long may it continue. There’s actually a really nice piece on the fairy tale on www.allthingsjabu.co.za check it out. Watford will hustle but Leicester have enough to win it.

TB: Leicester City 2 – 1 Watford

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Ranieri’s team trail and then fight back once again. I would love to see Jamie Vardy score and become the first Englishman to score in 9 consecutive games.  Leicester are the top ranked Blue (ignoring Sky Blues) side after 11 games, who would have thought that

Result: Leicester City 2 – 1 Watford

MS: Manchester Utd 1 – 0 West Brom

A fixture that’s become a struggle for Utd to win in recent seasons and will require more than the junk we have offered in the last 4 games. Still, it is Utd and I back them.

TB: Man Utd 1 – 0 West Brom

Both teams are kak to watch,  but I suspect that United will win for the first time since 2012 at home against West Brom. If Rooney scores expect stories aplenty how the hero is back.  << cheap shots

Result: Manchester Utd 2 – 0 West Brom

MS: Norwich 0 – 1 Swansea

The swans need to find their winning form again, this is the best chance they going to get.

TB: Norwich 0-0 Swansea

Swansea are the better side in this match, but a poor run of form as well as the fact that they have never won at Norwich before points to them being unable to win. Norwich form means they are unlikely to win and so draw is the tangible choice.

Result: Norwich 1 – 0 Swansea

MS: Sunderland 0 – 2 Southampton

I can’t see Sunderland winning. I can’t imagine Southampton letting any points slip in this fixture. Actually, I will be disappointed if the Saints don’t get more than 2.

TB: Sunderland 0-1 Southampton

Sunderland are the worst football side that I have watched in EPL over the past few years. Sam will make them a better side, but Koeman’s boys are just that much more oiled and I see them sneaking through.

Result: Sunderland 0-1 Southampton

MS: West Ham 1 – 1 Everton

Everton are finding some form while West Ham are slowly coming off the highs of their early start. My gut says draw but Everton might sneak it.

TB: West Ham 1-0 Everton

West Ham have been in incredible form this year and have talks of a European qualifications do not seem far off the mark. Everton are a good side under Martinez however I think West Ham will win this one by the odd goal

Result: West Ham 1 – 1 Everton

MS: Stoke  0 – 1 Chelsea

As much as I want Chelsea to lose again it’s time to be realistic. This is Stoke and unless all the players are trying to undermine the special one they can’t possibly lose here?

TB: Stoke City 1-0 Chelsea

This is my big choice game. Stoke have only ever beaten Chelsea once in the recent years, but the signing of some really top quality playmakers mean they are actually more interesting to watch. The disappointing start to the season at Chelsea has hurt them and I beg the Potters to add to the pain

Result: Stoke City 1-0 Chelsea

MS: Aston Villa 0 – 3 Man City

Villa are woeful. Just checked the score against Spurs on Monday and now I wish I had gone for four or five in favour of City.

TB: Aston Villa 0-3 Man City

Aston Villa are crap, Man City are not

Result: Aston Villa 0-0 Man City

MS: Arsenal  2 – 1  Tottenham

Arsenal got thumped 5-1 in midweek so they will bounce back at home. Spurs looked pretty mediocre on Monday night for a team who have only lost once this season.

TB: Arsenal 2-1 Spurs

North London is red and I expect on Sunday that will be the way it should always be. << no bias here >>

Result: Arsenal 1 – 1 Spurs

MS: Liverpool 1 – 0 Crystal Palace

Playing UEFA Cup on a Thursday night isn’t good for any team but Liverpool’s Klopp factor should see them take all the points against Palace.

TB: Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace

Liverpool finally got the ball rolling last week when they beat Chelsea and that will spur Pool on to greater heights going forward. I expect a tough game ahead for the Klopp’s side, but they should have enough.

Result: Liverpool 1 – 2 Crystal Palace

Final result Marcel 8  – 7 Tyron; no EPL action until Nov 21 as the players go to the international break.
