Matthew ‘Booooth’ Booth needs no introduction to any South African football fan. The tall former Sundowns and Bafana Bafana (37 caps) defender joins us for a bit of fun in the #head2head prediction game. Matthew is a West Ham United fan so he’s a little more than happy with this season.

Booth: Spurs 3-1 Sunderland

Sunderland ‘ s new Bayern Munich signing, Kirchhoff, will not be enough to stop a rampant Kane, Delli and Erikson.

Dirk: Tottenham 2 – 1 Sunderland

Spurs will have too much for an ever improving Sunderland. Big Sam has made them a lot more competitive but Spurs will be looking to make up ground on the top 4 after their loss to Leicester.

Marcel: Spurs 1 – 0 Sunderland

Recent defeat against Leicester makes me worry about Spurs. Also too many draws this season mean they not really scoring enough goals. Sunderland are improving but Spurs at home should edge it.

RESULT: Spurs 4 – 1 Sunderland

Booth: Bournemouth 1-2 Norwich

The Canaries will continue to mount pressure on Bournemouth as they hover above the relegation zone.

Dirk: Bournemouth 2 – 2 Norwich

Both teams have shown great spirit and played some excellent football as well. I can see them cancelling each other out in an entertaining game.

Marcel: Bournemouth 1 – 1 Norwich

I like Norwich but I’m not convinced they can win away at Bournemouth at the moment.

RESULT: Bournemouth 3 – 0 Norwich

Booth: Chelsea 3-2 Everton

The pressure has been relieved to a certain extent for Chelsea players and will allow them to play with more freedom but they won’t have it all their own way at Stamford Bridge due to the nuggety Toffies.

Dirk: Chelsea 1 – 2 Everton

Chelsea are much better under Hiddicks guidance but Everton have been in form, and I think they’ll push them until they find a way through.

Marcel: Chelsea 1 – 0 Everton

Everton don’t score enough goals for me. Chelsea have turned the corner. I can only see one winner at the Bridge.

RESULT: Chelsea 3 – 3 Everton

Booth: Man. City 2-0 Palace

City will be too strong for Pardew and Co. at the Etihad.

Dirk: Man City 2 – 0 Palace

City show have had a penalty and earned a hard earned win against Everton. Even so they’re looking tighter at the back and as dangerous as ever going forward. Not good news for visiting Palace.

Marcel: Man City 2 – 0 Crystal Palace

City must start their post Christmas push. Toure will be out  to prove a point after the moody Ivorian was overlooked for African Player of the Year. Palace seem to have lost their edge recently and will struggle in this match.

RESULT: Man City 4 – 0 Crystal Palace

Booth: Newcastle 0-0 West Ham

The two teams will cancel each other out as a struggling Newcastle have the benefit of playing at home and the Hammers are chasing a Champions League spot.

Dirk: Newcastle 1 – 2 West Ham

Newcastle come into this game after an excellent draw against Man United. West Ham leaped frogged Untied with their win midweek and will want to keep hold of their surprise top 4 challenge. West Ham to have too much for the Magpies.

Marcel: Newcastle 1 – 2 West Ham

The Hammers are back. A good win at Bournemouth sets them up nicely to visit the Tyneside strugglers. Newcastle scored 3 against Manchester United but shouldn’t expect such poor defending from WHU.

RESULT: Newcastle 2 – 1 West Ham

Booth: Southampton 4-2 West Bromwich

Koeman will get his team back on track after stuttering over the Xmas period.

Dirk: Southampton 2 – 0 West Brom

Southampton look to have gotten their grove back and will be too strong for the Baggies at home.

Marcel: Southampton 0 – 0 WBA

Southampton finally won a game when they beat Watford on Wednesday night while WBA have been struggling to win themselves, racking up a number of draws. I think it’ll be a scoreless draw as both create but fail to finish chances.

RESULT: Southampton 3 – 0 WBA

Booth: Villa 1-0 Leicester

Garde will come away from this fixture with a glimmer of hope as Leicester will have their first hiccup of the season.

Dirk: Villa 1 – 2 Leicester

Even though Villa got a much needed win in the last round of matches, Leicester beat an excellent Spurs. Momentum is with Leicester, and they’ll want to sustain their top 4 challenge.

Marcel: Villa 0 – 1 Leicester

I’m learning the hard way not to go against Leicester as they continue to win against the established, recognised teams. Another good result against Spurs on Wednesday! Villa just won’t cope with their pace.

RESULT: Villa 1 – 1 Leicester

Booth: Liverpool 1-2 Man Utd

Coutinho is out until February and this will be a massive blow for Klopp. Van Gaal will eke out a lucky win on Merseyside.

Dirk: Liverpool 2 – 2 Man United

Liverpool showed against Arsenal they have fight about them. Defensively they still look weak though, so expect a few goals! Feel it will end up a draw.

Marcel: Liverpool 2 – 2 Manchester United

This is one game I desperately want LVG to win but I’m erring on the side of caution with a draw and actually think United will struggle to match Liverpool on current form.

RESULT: Liverpool 0 – 1 Manchester United

Booth: Stoke 0-3 Arsenal

My title contenders will keep marching forward.

Dirk: Stoke 1 – 0 Arsenal

I know that Arsenal are top of the Premiership but there’s something about this Stoke side that makes me feel like they’ll have the beating of Wengers side.

Marcel: Stoke 1 – 0 Arsenal

Stoke at home. Arsenal away to Stoke. Those are good reasons for Stoke wins.

Result: Stoke 0 – 0 Arsenal

Booth: Swansea 2-2 Watford

Ighalo and Deeney won’t be enough for 3 points but instaed a hard earned draw for Watford

Dirk: Swansea 1 – 1 Watford

I think Watford will probably look the better side but Swansea will scrap enough to come out with a point from this clash.

Marcel: Swansea 0 – 1 Watford

Swansea start the match 10 points behind Watford. They just sold their strongest midfield player to Newcastle and last season let Bony go to City. Matter of time before Newcastle and Sunderland overtake them on the table.
