Run Ride Dive Home

Just for fun we’re adding Paul Merson’s predictions to ours to see who would win if Merse joined us.

Dirk: Villa 1 – 2 Chelsea

Villa will be under caretaker management so a little bit of an unknown here, but they need a miracle to get anything from this game. Chelsea to win it.

Marcel: Villa 0 – 1 Chelsea

Chelsea all the way for me in this fixture. I conservatively locked in a one goal margin but expect a few extra.

Paul Merson: Villa 0 – 3 Chelsea

RESULT: Villa 0 – 4 Chelsea

Dirk: Arsenal 2 – 1 Watford

Arsenal are lucky to be facing a Watford side that have been in a slump lately. They’ll have enough to get the 3 points especially at home.

Marcel: Arsenal 2 – 0 Watford

Watford can’t score like they were early in the season and Arsenal will. No, Arsenal must score and and must win to keep alive any chances of catching Spurs, let alone Leicester.

Paul Merson: Arsenal 3 – 0 Watford

RESULT: Arsenal 4 – 0 Watford

Dirk: Bournemouth 0 – 2 Man City

Bournemouth will be struggle to beat City here, especially with City smarting after this lose to United. Expect a reaction here – especially with City’s top 4 place under threat.

Marcel: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Man City

It’s a bit of a David vs Goliath fixture but David forgot his slingshot at home and get’s trampled but not without landing a sneaky blow to the groin on the way down.

Paul Merson: Bournemouth 1 -1  Man City

RESULT: Bournemouth 0 – 4 Man City

Dirk: Norwich 2 – 2 Newcastle

Both teams will be desperate for points, Newcastle have looked a lot better under Benitez but I can see this being an entertaining draw.

Marcel: Norwich 1 – 0 Newcastle

Newcastle are going down and this is exactly why. You have to beat the teams around you if you want to survive and I just feel Norwich have more hustle and bustle about them.

Paul Merson: Norwich 2 – 1 Newcastle

RESULT: Norwich 3 – 2 Newcastle

Dirk: Stoke 2 – 1 Swansea

Swansea are looking a lot stronger lately but it’s away at Stoke, and Stoke are a much better side these days. Stoke to win it for me. Fantastic side to watch these days.

Marcel: Stoke 2 – 1 Swansea

I’m thinking I was hasty with this pick and feel a draw is more likely but what’s done is done and Stoke have the quality to see off the Swans.

Paul Merson: Stoke 2 – 1 Swansea

RESULT: Stoke 2 – 2 Swansea

Dirk: Sunderland 1 – 1 West Brom

Two teams looking for points to ensure survival, but looking faliable. I see it being a draw – which is enough for West Brom but not enough for Sunderland.

Marcel: Sunderland 1 – 0 West Brom

Both teams are dreadful to watch. I hope the game is called off because of bad weather and then decided on a coin toss but if they have to play the full time allocated, hopefully Sunderland win by a WBA own goal.

Paul Merson: Sunderland 2 – 0 WBA

RESULT: Sunderland 0 – 0 WBA

Dirk: West Ham 2 – 0 Crystal Palace

West Ham are in excellent form and Palace are struggling to score goals. Don’t see this weekend being any different, and West Ham to continue with their top 4 push.

Marcel: West Ham 3 – 0 Crystal Palace

More excellent football on display, if everyone is fit, from the Hammers. Palace have lost their way. They flattered to deceive in 2015 but injuries, lack of form and general lack of quality have seen them slowly slide down the table.

Paul Merson: West Ham  3 – 1 Palace

RESULT: West Ham 2 – 2 Crystal Palace

Dirk: Liverpool 1 – 2 Tottenham

Tottenham’s players were excellent for England against Germany, expect to see them take form into this difficult away game against Liverpool.

Marcel: Liverpool 1 – 1 Spurs

I hope Spurs win but my gut says too many players were on international duty. Spurs draw too many games to be real contenders and this is a tough fixture. Liverpool are playing well and the Welsh Pirlo even picked up a MOTM midweek.

Paul Merson: Liverpool 1 – 2 Spurs

RESULT: Liverpool 1 – 1 Spurs

Dirk: Leicester 1 – 1 Southampton

After their comeback win against Liverpool you have to feel Southampton can get something from this game! Draw for me.

Marcel: Leicester 1 – 0 Southampton

Not much to say here. Leicester will do what they have done all season. Sit deep and break with incredible pace often enough to find the breakthrough. Southampton should be competitive but just lack the instinct to go get the prize.

Paul Merson: 1 – 1 Southampton

RESULT: Leicester 1 – 0 Southampton

Only a year on but none of the goal scorers are still at the same teams …

Dirk: Man United 2 – 2 Everton

Derby win for United brings them some momentum but Everton have been good and they like the bigger games. High scoring draw for me with both teams going for it.

Marcel: Man Utd 1 – 0 Everton

I expect a bad tempered affair with a lot of cards, some might even be red. United need to find a leader and fast. All hopes of making the top 4 rely on winning every game from here on.

Paul Merson: Man Utd 2 – 1 Everton

RESULT: Manchester United 1 – 0 Everton

Paul Merson 4  – Dirk 4 – 10 Marcel
