A week after a resounding 8-5-5 win for Marcel, we welcome Tim, lifelong Chelsea supporter and regular golf contributor to our blog (the everyday golfer). Marcel said about Tim, “the only Chelsea supporter I know from pre-Russian oil money days”. Tim has a background in banking and security and will be hoping his team can upset Marcel’s United when they visit on Sunday.
Bournemouth – Spurs
Tim: 1 – 1 WP
Spurs would normally be favorites but Bournemouth will be on a high after last weeks result and Spurs played in Europe, so may arrive a bit jaded.
Dirk: 2 – 1
This is an out there kind of prediction, but Bournemouth have been looking excellent lately – and Spurs haven’t been in full flow like the beginning of the season. I sense an upset here.
Marcel: 1 – 1 WP
Spurs are struggling for goals all of a sudden, a draw last time out and another in Europe when one would’ve expected comfortable wins lead me to think a determined Bournemouth could just get a point from this fixture.
Sporting Bet says Bournemouth vs Spurs 3.8 / 3. 6 / 1.95
RESULT: Bournemouth 0 – 0 Spurs
Arsenal – Boro
Tim: 3 – 1
Arsenal won 6 – 0 midweek and didn’t have to travel. Can’t see Boro turning them over at the Emirates.
Dirk: 2 – 0
Even though I really like Boro, they have been out of form lately. Away at a truly in form Arsenal they don’t stand a chance!
Marcel: 3 – 0
Great performance from the gunners in Europe on Wednesday night should give them the confidence to pump Boro at home. I expect Ozil and Sanchez to have a field day with the Boro defense provided the team isn’t experiencing fatigue from the fixture congestion.
Sporting Bet says Arsenal vs Boro 1.27 / 6 / 12
RESULT: Arsenal 0 – 0 Boro
Burnley – Everton
Tim: 0 – 2
Lukaku is still a form player and has yet to really hit his stride. Koeman is putting in good systems and I think Everton will have too much for Burnley.
Dirk: 1 – 2
A good point for Everton last time out, expect a good away three points for them at a Burnley side who I still don’t think have enough about them for the premier league.
Marcel: 0 – 1
Last week Everton snatched a point at City against the odds. Koeman will remind his charges how fortunate they were and should bring a more disciplined performance to the match. Burnley though are contenders for the drop and I think Everton should have way more chances to score this time.
Sporting Bet says Burnley vs Everton 6 / 3.8 / 1.65
RESULT: Burnley 2 – 1 Everton
Hull City – Stoke City
Tim: 1 – 1
Should be a hard fought game with both teams viewing this as a potential must-win fixture. Hull will be fighting hard to put some points in the bank, but Stoke are the stronger team on paper. A draw is the most likely outcome
Dirk: 1 – 2 WP
Joe Allen’s brilliance the difference here. Strange sentence to hear I know, but what a change there’s been for him since he’s moved! Hull have struggled to recreate the early season form. Stoke to get much needed points here.
Marcel: 0 – 1 WP
Hull City are in the bottom 5 and unless they can start scoring goals I can’t see them climbing much further. Stoke on the other hand dispatched Sunderland last week and I expect more of the same.
Sporting Bet says Hull vs Stoke 3.05 / 3.30 / 2.50
RESULT: Hull City 0 – 2 Stoke

Leceister – Crystal Palace
Tim: 2 – 0 WP
The reigning Premier League Champions have had a poor start to the season with Ranieri declaring that their priority at present is qualification from their group in the Champions League. With this now being all but a formality, I can’t see them allowing Palace to come to the King Power and leave with any points. Leicester need a win before they become a joke as EPL champions.
Dirk: 2 – 2
Entertaining draw for me. Both teams have been brilliant and inconsistent.
Marcel: 1 – 1
Leicester .. unbeaten in the Champions League but only 2 from 8 in England. The champions are three points behind the visitors prior to the visit of the Londoners and I don’t can’t see them ticking the W column in this fixture either. Benteke will need to score though to keep Palace moving forward.
Sporting Bet says Leicester vs Palace 2.05 / 3.4 / 3.8
RESULT: Leicester 3 – 1 Palace
Bradley: “It’s worth a reminder to everyone who is coming to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday that we need you and we are counting on you.”

Swansea – Watford
Tim: 2 – 0
Swansea’s new manager Bob Bradley’s first home game in charge and he will be demanding a win. Watford are no pushovers but have always been better at home. Should be an entertaining one, but I see the Swans shading it.
Dirk: 2 – 1
Swansea were a lot better than any of us expected against Arsenal. Watford like last season blowing hot and cold, see it being a good 3 points for the Welsh side here.
Marcel: 0 – 1
Swansea haven’t won since the opening fixture away to Burnley in August and I have faith in Watford to pick up another three points despite the obvious attacking prowess Swansea displayed with two goals against Arsenal last week.
Sporting Bet says Swansea vs Watford 2.35 / 3.3 / 3.3
RESULT: Swansea 0 – 0 Watford
West Ham – Sunderland
Tim: 3 – 1 WP
Both teams have had tragic starts to the new season. West Ham were given a lot of hype before the season and have failed to live up to that hype. They are however playing a woeful Sunderland side that is odds on to get relegated. I have given them 1 goal because Defoe scores for fun, but other than him they don’t seem to do anything well, especially defending.
Dirk: 2 – 0 WP
West Ham comfortably have more in them than Sunderland – and this will show.
Marcel: 1 – 0 WP+MP
West Ham finally notched up their second win of the season in the previous round while Sunderland let us down yet again. Sunderland are propping up the table again and the annual escape act is proper Roy of the Rovers stuff but the Hammers are a polished outfit and when they start to tick they are formidable.
Sporting Bet says West Ham vs Sunderland 1.7 / 3.8 / 5
RESULT: West Ham 1 – 0 Sunderland

Liverpool – West Brom
Tim: 3 – 1 WP
Liverpool is an exciting and attack-minded team especially when playing at home. Not many teams can stop them, unless you play like Mourinho’s United and park the big bus. Even so, not many teams have the personnel to hold Liverpool back when they are going forward, so I can’t Tony Pulis’s men stopping them. West Brom is a gritty team so Rondon might nick a goal.
Dirk: 1 – 1
West Brom are the type of side to blunt Liverpool’s movement. Can see them sneaking an away point here.
Marcel: 2 – 0 WP
Klopp’s boys were frustrated by excellent Mourinho tactics on Monday night and will want to bounce back and prove they have the ability to challenge for the title. Anything less than a two-goal margin win will be devastating for the Anfield faithful after a thrilling start to the season.
Sporting Bet says Liverpool vs West Brom 1.28 / 5.75 / 11
RESULT: Liverpool 2 – 1 WBA
The turn and finish… ????

Man City – Southampton
Tim: 3 – 0
Barcelona thumped Man City in Champions League this week making it 4 games in a row for supposedly the best team in England. They didn’t play Ageuro for some reason so he will be fresh and raring to go. De Bruyne should also start finding his feet again after his return from injury. Southampton’s style of play should suit City and I doubt they will hold them back at the Etihad especially after traveling midweek for their Europa Cup tie (which they lost).
Dirk: 2- 0
I expect a reaction at home from City after a few frustrating and disappointing results. Important win at home for City here.
Marcel: 1 – 0
Pep thought this English football gig with billions of Pounds on tap was a walk in the park until Tottenham stung them with 2 goals a few weeks ago. Since then City have failed to win a game, only picking up a point against Everton at home while squandering two penalties. On Wednesday they were humiliated by Pep’s former team Barcelona and many will be questioning the wisdom in replacing Joe Hart with not-s0-bravo Claudio Bravo.
Sporting Bet says City vs Southampton 1.44 / 4.8 / 7
RESULT: City 1 – 1 Southampton
Chelsea – Man Utd
Tim: 1 – 0 WP
United’s super dull draw against Liverpool in the last round of fixtures has probably been the talking point of the week. How can Mourinho allow Man United to play in such a dour style. Chelsea fans will know that Jose doesn’t care about how pretty the style is, its all about the result. I am sure he looked at the two fixtures away to Liverpool and Chelsea and said I will play for the draw and try a nick a goal at the end for the win. he almost got that right against Liverpool. The biggest unknown factor is that no one is sure what happened in the Chelsea dressing room last season. Something definitely went wrong….Just how much do the Chelsea players want to get revenge. It could define the game, but it will probably be a defensive masterclass from both Managers.
Dirk: 0 – 0
Jose brings the bus back home and frustrates us all. Bore draw for me.
Marcel: 0 – 1
It’s 5th vs 7th and Mourinho needs to win this match. It will put some demons to bed for him, and the United supporters who still have unanswered questions. Make no mistake this is a massive fixture on the calendar and Conte too will need this win to bring confidence to his squad who are chasing the leading pack.
Sporting Bet says Chelsea vs United 2.15 / 3.3 / 3.6
RESULT: Chelsea 4 – 0 Utd
