Goosen Takes The Double At Monster Energy TRP Distributors Motocross Championships Round Six
Holeshot Harry’s – An on-form David Goosen dominated stop number six on the Monster Energy TRP Distributers SAMX Championships by winning both the MX1 and MX2 divisions. The KZN rider blazed his way through both divisions, beating Anthony Raynard and Sacha Naude into second and third in the MX1 division, and Joshua Mlimi and Anthony Raynard into the same minor positions in the MX2 division.
Goosen has been on a roll of late, after having an excellent ride at Thunder Valley last month for stop 5 of the SAMX Championships. He also competed in both divisions at Maritzburg and banked a 3rd place in MX1 and a win in MX2 in that event.
Currently in 5th position on the MX1 ratings and 12th on the MX2 leaderboard, this double-header at Holeshot Harry’s will see him climb nicely on both boards.
Ryan Hunt once again came out on top in the MX3 division, beating Brett Bircher into second, ahead of Marc Ansley who was in third. Hunt was top of the MX3 ratings going into this event, so this victory will cement his spot on the top of the board.
In the highly-contested High School division Keegan Hickson- Mahoney emerged victorious, fighting off some strong competition from Marco De Vrye and Cayle Dormehl who came in second and third respectively.
The popular Ladies division saw a repeat of Syringa, with Nanda Clowes once again taking the win from Brittany Cuthbert, with Leah Heygate in third.
In the Pro Mini division Camden McLellan took the win from Slade Botha, and Jonathan Mlimi emerged victorious in the 85cc Junior division, with Hayden Tully a close second.
