Barclays Premier League Live is coming to Johannesburg on the 29 and 30 March
South Africans can experience the Barclays Premier League like never before this month with the chance to come and watch five live matches broadcast on a 100-square-metre screen in Johannesburg. You will also get the chance to meet legends of the Barclays Premier League and get close to the iconic Barclays Premier League Trophy.

The inaugural Barclays Premier League Live event will take place at the Zoo Lake Sports Club, in Johannesburg, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March. It will be a free to enter fan park, for 12,000 supporters each day and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will be five great Barclays Premier League matches for you to watch as well as a variety of interactive experiences designed for your family to enjoy.

Saturday 29 March – Barclays Premier League Live opens at 12:00 local time and closes at 22:00

The Barclays Premier League matches on the big screen will be:

14:45 – Manchester United v Aston Villa
17:00 – Chelsea v Crystal Palace
19:30 – Arsenal v Manchester City
Sunday 30 March – Barclays Premier League Live opens at 12:00 and closes at 20:00

The Barclays Premier League matches on the big screen will be:

14:30 – Fulham v Everton
17:00 – Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur
As well as watching the action, you will be able to enjoy a number of zones that will bring the Barclays Premier League to life in the fan park.
The Trophy Zone: get near to the Barclays Premier League Trophy.
The Club Zone: learn more about the 20 Barclays Premier League clubs and, through green-screen technology, picture yourself lifting the Barclays Premier League Trophy decorated with the ribbons of your favourite club.
The Screening Zone: experience the noise and excitement of matchday before learning about the winning teams and captains of the Premier League in an exclusive film.
The Pitch Zone: play on a mini-football pitch where Barclays Premier League clubs will be conducting skills sessions with local football teams, and there will be the chance for young fans to have a football match run by Premier League community coaches.
The Skills Zone: three football skills pods for you to test your close control, shooting power and accuracy.
The Live Match Zone: the main arena where you can watch the Barclays Premier League live on a giant 100-square-metre screen, the biggest in South Africa.
The fan park will have zones for you to buy food and beverages, and you can visit event stands from Premier League sponsors and partners Barclays, EA Sports, Nike and Topps, as well as a number of clubs, including Cardiff City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland.

You will also get the chance to meet legends of the Barclays Premier League at Barclays Premier League Live. Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler and Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly will be coming from the UK, while local legends will include Mark Fish and Lucas Radebe. Along with Phil Masinga, Radebe was the first South African to play in the Barclays Premier League. In addition to offering you their pre and post-match insight on the live matches, you can get the autographs of the legends at signing sessions, and get close to them as they coach local children and visit all the zones and stands over the weekend.

Everton’s Steven Pienaar, whose side will be the first match in action in the fan park on Sunday, is confident that the event will be a big hit with his South African compatriots.

“South African fans are very passionate about their football and this is a great way for them to watch the Barclays Premier League,” Pienaar, a native of Johannesburg, said. “I am sure the people will embrace it and it will be another special sporting occasion in my country.”
