The Ford Focus Sedan sits in an extremely competitive Sedan market sector. It has to really offer something different to make an impact and grab buyers attentions. The Focus is interesting in this way as it offers a little bit of everything and does everything quite well. There’s not much to fault, with the new 1,5 L EcoBoost Petrol the highlight of the range.
They’ve updated the look and it feels better placed in the segment now. It is a sensible car that offers great value – and that’s what a sedan is really about isn’t it? It is a lot better looking than the previous Focus Sedans.
The steering is nice and direct. Though it’s a bit too soft for people who like throw go-karts around the track on weekends! It’s an easy drive that leaves you feeling in control. Traffic wise the changes are good and you don’t feel the stop start heavily. Keyless is nice and hassle free, adding to the sense of value with the car.
The interior is neat and the computer is quite intuitive to use. It’s very pleasing to the eye and makes for a very relaxing drive. The front passenger’s seat feels a bit cramped for space though as the dash is quite low and forward. It’s a small irritation for how well the rest of everything works. Space is ample and you can see why it would be an excellent family vehicle.
The price tag is reasonable for the sector and you can see why at R293,900.00 it’s a good option for a young professional or young family. It’s an excellent car from Ford and you can expect to see a lot more of them on the road in 2016!
