Round 15 of Head2Head concluded on Monday night after an action filled encounter between Everton and Crystal Palace. Wade Pretorious narrowly lost 4-2 against Marcel Sigg after the latter predicted the score 100% correctly.
In round 16 we have defensive strong man, Marc van Heerden of Amazulu FC taking on both Marcel Sigg and Dirk Vale, the two resident pundits. Please follow Marc on twitter for more about life at Amazulu.
Marc Bournemouth 0 – 2 Manchester United
After the CL exit Manchester United will be able to concentrate on the league and a win at Bournemouth is critical to staying with the leaders.
@MarcelSigg Bournemouth 0 – 1 Manchester United
Louis was listening last week against West Ham, United attacked impressively in the second half now we just need a goal. Hopefully Martial gets to play up front with support.
@DirkVale Bouremouth 1 – 1 Man United
And no Marcel it’s not only cause I’m a City fan, it’s cause it’s now Boring, Boring, Man Untied… Howe’s side showed against Chelsea that they have something more about them, and United lacked serious bite against West Ham. Think these two things will cancel each other out in this game.
RESULT: Bournemouth 2 – 1 Manchester Utd
2 – Bournemouth are only the second team to beat Chelsea & Man Utd in consecutive Premier League matches (after Everton in Feb 2010). Shock.

Marc Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Southampton
Southampton are in desperate need to turn their season around, might just sneak it at Palace.
@MarcelSigg Crystal Palace 1 – 0 Southampton
Palace really are my favourite London club. Great effort on Monday night at Everton, Southampton don’t fill me with anything but regret for backing them all season so far. Is Koeman even still at the club?
@DirkVale Palace 2 – 1 Southampton
The Saints couldn’t beat Villa, they’ll lose to a Palace side that’s pushing into the top 6.
RESULT: Crystal Palace 1 – 0 Southampton
Marc Man City 4 -0 Swansea
City just have too much quality for Swansea.
@MarcelSigg Man City 3 – 0 Swansea
Last week Stoke completely outclassed City, so this week expect a huge bounce back to winning ways. Swansea are poor lately, Bony could start against his former club and cause headaches. Monk will be under pressure to get a point next week too, if he still has a job.
@DirkVale City 2 – 0 Swansea
Even though City had a horrendous time against Stoke, I think we’ll see a big reaction from the side. Swansea are on the brink of crisis and it’s a bad time for them to visit City.
RESULT: Man City 2 – 1 Swansea
Marc Norwich 0 – 3 Everton
Too much quality across the board in the Everton team for Norwich to contend with.
@MarcelSigg Norwich 1 – 1 Everton
I quite enjoy the pace and vigour that the promoted teams have brought with them. I expect Everton to dominate possession and still not get all three points (sounds like Man Utd, I know).
@DirkVale Norwich 0 – 2 Everton
Everton are looking stronger and stronger. Norwich still haven’t truly found their feet at this level and will struggle to hold the likes of Lukaku and Deloefauo.
RESULT: Norwich 1 – 1 Everton
Marc Sunderland 1 – 0 Watford
Sunderland at home, should have enough to keep Watford out at the Stadium of Light
@MarcelSigg Sunderland 0 – 1 Watford
Have I backed Sunderland once this season? Not going to start now, they are crap. Go Watford.
@DirkVale Sunderland 1 – 2 Watford
Watford are turning into a surprise package and they’re linking well and playing some attractive football. Sunderland have improved drastically under Big Sam, but they don’t have the momentum to beat Watford.
RESULT: Sunderland 0 – 1 Watford
|West Ham||vs||Stoke City|
Marc West Ham 1 – 1 Stoke City
Both teams are on a good run and similar qualities should cancel each other out.
@MarcelSigg West Ham 1 – 2 Stoke City
Things are changing in Stoke. They are playing attractive football and creating lots of chances with proper football. I’m no fan of the long ball and of the two WHU are more likely to throw it in the box for the giraffe to try get on the end of it. Here’s hoping for another dazzling Xherdan Shaqiri performance.
@DirkVale West Ham 2 – 1 Stoke
West Ham been strong in spite of injuries, and even though Stoke where fantastic against City, that was at home and I think they’ll struggle to do as well away from home.
RESULT: West Ham 0 – 0 Stoke
Marc Tottenham 3 – 1 Newcastle
Spurs are the form team and even though Newcastle appear to have found some form it’s a tough ask at White Hart Lane
@MarcelSigg Tottenham 1 – 1 Newcastle
Spurs are looking like real contenders this season. They just need to turn a few of the draws into wins and they might be at the sharp end come May. Newcastle had a great result against Liverpool and will have gained enormous confidence from it. Away at White Hart Lane is a new challenge though, score draw for me.
@DirkVale Spurs 2 – 1 Newcastle
Spurs at home right now look a really strong side, and even though Newcastle upset Liverpool, I feel that was a flash in the pan for a team with some serious problems.
RESULT: Spurs 1 – 2 Newcastle
Marc Liverpool 3 – 0 West Brom
At home Liverpool are always a force and under Klopp the football is better and the results will come, at least against West Brom.
@MarcelSigg Liverpool 1 – 0 West Brom
Liverpool were humiliated by Newcastle on the weekend but it’s probably just a hiccup. West Brom managed to hold Spurs but this is Anfield and I can’t imagine the scousers allowing a repeat.
@DirkVale Liverpool 2 – 1 West Brom
The hype died down a little after the Liverpool’s lose to Newcastle. A good draw for the Baggies against Spurs, but I just can’t see them taking points off Liverpool at home.
RESULT: Liverpool 2 – 2 West Brom
Marc Aston Villa 1 – 0 Arsenal
Arsenal are struggling with injuries by the bucketload, Villa are desperate for points and could cause an upset at home.
@MarcelSigg Aston Villa 1 – 2 Arsenal
Villa are improving but Arsenal are a really good side. This is crunch time for Wenger, he needs to string some wins together before the awkward Christmas period so they can stay in contention come January.
@DirkVale Villa 0 – 2 Arsenal
Arsenal showed against Sunderland they can win ugly, and this weekend will call for more of the same against an extremely average Villa side.
RESULT: Aston Villa 0 – 2 Arsenal
Marc Chelsea 3 – 2 Leicester
I expect Chelsea to set the game alight with attacking football in an attempt to get some much needed points. They need to dig themselves out of the hole they find themselves in.
@MarcelSigg Leicester 2 – 0 Chelsea
Top of the table and while Vardy is fit there’s no reason not to back the foxes. Chelsea were miserable again against Bournemouth and the grumpy one needs more misery, let’s hope Leicester brings it.
@DirkVale Leicester 2 – 0 Chelsea
The foxes are on the most amazing run of form, they’ll be keen to show the out going champions that they are serious title contenders.
RESULT: Leicester City 2 – 1 Chelsea
Marc – 2
Marcel – 9
Dirk – 6
