We challenged @ATJabu and @ThePundits to a head to head but both chickened out 😀 so Dirk gets to defend his recently won crown against Marcel again!
Dirk: Spurs 2 – 2 Liverpool
Klopp will give Liverpool a revived feel to them but they won’t be finished enough to get three points at Spurs.
Marcel: Spurs 1 – 1 Liverpool
Klopp will raise the bar at Liverpool, his approach will change their fortunes but probably needs a few games to get results. Spurs are not great at the moment but at home the fans should lift them.
Result: Spurs 0 – 0 Liverpool
Dirk: Chelsea 2 – 1 Villa
Probably the two clubs who most need a result. Villa’s defense has been shambolic lately, and even the misfiring Chelsea attack should beat them at home.
Marcel: Chelsea 1 – 0 Villa
Chelsea can’t possibly lose to Villa, or can they?
Result: Chelsea 2 – 0 Villa
Dirk: Palace 1 – 0 West Ham
Palace have been fantastic this season, and I think they’ll have enough about to keep West Ham out and get the three points. West Ham have been excellent on their travels but think where they are right now, Palace will be better.
Marcel: Palace 1 – 2 West Ham
Bilic has rapidly turned West Ham into a watchable team with lots of go-forward. I think they have enough to see off Pardew’s men.
Result: Palace 1 – 3 West Ham
Dirk: Everton 2 – 1 Man United
Everton are a team on form and at home with how Lukaku is looking I can’t see them losing here.
Marcel: Everton 0 – 1 Man United
Anthony Martial to carry on his impressive scoring form and 2 week break for LVG to sort out his defensive patterns.
Result: Everton 0 – 3 Man United
Dirk: Man City 3 – 0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth have done well in their debut EPL season, but this is City at home. Easy win for the Citizens.
Marcel: Man City 5 – 0 Bournemouth
Anything less than 3 goals for City is a pathetic outing. Fireworks from the pacey wingers and goals by the truck load.
Result: Man City 5 – 1 Bournemouth
Dirk: Southampton 2 – 1 Leicester
Saints to have too much at home for the Foxes. Foxes been fantastic but the Saints are getting into their stride, at home has to be the Saints.
Marcel: Southampton 1 – 1 Leicester
Southampton are nowhere near their awesome levels of last season while Leicester have a resilliance about them. They play with an intensity few can match to the last whistle. Possible away win here but I’m playing it safe with a draw.
Result: Southampton 2 – 2 Leicester
Dirk: West Brom 1 – 1 Sunderland
Big Sam affect the only thing that will get Sunderland a point here. Expect a very different kind of team from the last Sunderland team…
Marcel: West Brom 2 – 1 Sunderland
Sunderland are crap. Allardyce has a huge task on his hands to get them above the drop-zone in the next few months. Tony Pulis knows his stuff, home win.
Result: West Brom 1 – 0 Sunderland
Dirk: Watford 0 – 2 Arsenal
If the Gunners can take their players international form to this game it could well be 5-0!
Marcel: Watford 0 – 1 Arsenal
Arsenal to win and create bucket-loads of chances, like every other game they play, but won’t convert too many. Watford are plucky, they might just push the gunners at home.
Result: Watford 0 – 3 Arsenal
Dirk: Newcastle 2 – 1 Norwich
Steve McClaren to finally get his win at Newcastle. Norwich just don’t look good enough for the EPL and a trip to St James Park will be took much of an ask for them.
Marcel: Newcastle 1 – 1 Norwich
I feel for Newcastle fans. So much potential but no results. A good show last time out against Chelsea and still couldn’t win. Maybe McClaren gets it right this week, I still think a draw as the Canaries need points too.
Result: Newcastle 1 – 0 Norwich
Dirk: Swansea 2 – 0 Stoke
Swansea have dropped off in recent weeks but they should have enough about then to get a strong win against a lately listless Stoke side.
Marcel: Swansea 2 – 2 Stoke
Swansea have not won a game since they burgled one on August 30th against Manchester United. Stoke have won their last two. Tough trip to St. Mary’s for Mark Hughes but they should have enough quality for a score draw.
Result: Swansea 0 – 1 Stoke
The results are: Dirk 5 – 8 Marcel.
