American professional Cheyenne Woods, the niece of Tiger Woods, will make her first appearance in the Gary Player Invitational at Sun City from 16-17 November.
“I’ve always been interested in South Africa and its history,” said Cheyenne. “I’ve always wanted to come here. At the Masters this year I spoke to Gary Player and he told me a lot about the country.”
Golfing icon Gary Player said: “It’s wonderful to have women’s golf represented in our tournament by such a vibrant young talent as Cheyenne. She will serve as such an inspiration for so many young girls in South Africa. Her genuine interest in this country and its history is a great asset to this tournament and our efforts to raise as much money for charity as we can.”
Cheyenne turned professional in 2012 after a highly successful amateur career in which she won over 30 tournaments.
