This week Dirk has rounded up another noisy neighbour for the Head2Head challenge!
We welcome Aditya from India. Aditya was part of the Global City fans group that went to Manchester for City’s Global City campaign with Etihad. You can keep track of him on twitter and here are some YouTube videos featuring Aditya in India – and then at the City Arsenal game in Manchester.
Aditya: Watford v Everton 1-2
I believe Lukaku will hit form after a long barren run. I think Watford will find it difficult to get away with a win with the pace of Bolasie and Lukaku!
Dirk: Watford 1 – 2 Everton
Everton looked lost, but showed some grit to come back against United. Watford seem to have patches of looking good, but right now they’re in a patch of looking quite average. Everton to pick up a good away win here.
Marcel: Watford 1 – 1 Everton
Everton are a shadow where they should be. Barkley can’t get a game, Lukaku looks lost on his own and Koeman doesn’t seem to have the same impact as he did at Southampton yet. Watford play in yellow at Vicarage Road, draw all day long.
RESULT: Watford 3 – 1 Everton
Aditya: Arsenal v Stoke 2-0 WP
With the Midas touch that Sanchez is enjoying, it is difficult to predict anything other than a comfortable win for Arsenal at home.
Dirk: Arsenal 2 – 1 Stoke WP
Arsenal are in fantastic form, and even though Stoke are solid and building on some good form they won’t be strong enough away at Emirates Stadium. Want a Stoke win of course but also want to beat Sigg!
Marcel: Arsenal 2 – 0 Stoke WP
Even though Stoke City have changed their style dramatically over recent years and usually give the gunners a good scare at home this is a bridge too far for them. Recent form and quality of players will see Arsenal dominate.
RESULT: Arsenal 3 – 1 Stoke
Aditya: Burnley v Bournemouth 1-2
This game could go either way, but I trust Eddie Howe’s team to come good after last week’s miracle!
Dirk: Burnley 1 – 1 Bournemouth
The Cherries aren’t the best travellers which will give Burnley a chance of getting a result here. I think they’ll end up evening each other out, but expect some exciting interesting football to be played.
Marcel: Burnley 0 – 1 Bournemouth
Bournemouth showed tremendous character last time out to defeat Loserpool, I think their form will continue into this away fixture. Burnley should struggle to keep up.
RESULT: Burnley 3 – 2 Bournemouth
Aditya: Hull v Palace 1-3
Benteke will continue his goal scoring and with Puncheon getting his act underway I will go for a Palace win.
Dirk: Hull 0 – 2 Palace
Palace have finally found some form through a bit of luck. Hull can’t find form anywhere and desperately need a few signings come January. Palace win here to keep Pardew safe a few more weeks.
Marcel: Hull 1 – 0 Palace
I desperately want Palace to start winning and move away from the relegation zone but it looks less likely after every round. Hull to sneak it in a tight game of few chances.
RESULT: Hull 3 – 3 Palace
Aditya: Swansea v Sunderland 2-1 WP
David Moyes is finally making Sunderland play in his way, but I feel Swansea will win this round.
Dirk: Swansea 2 – 1 Sunderland WP
Sunderland are almost a form team at the moment with 3 wins in 4. I don’t think it will last though, and Swansea should have enough about them to pick up 3 points here at home.
Marcel: Swansea 0 – 1 Sunderland
I have no emotional attachment to either side. Actually, I wouldn’t mind if Swansea fell off the Welsh coast and disappeared into the sea so the red and white version of Newcastle United to win by one.
RESULT: Swansea 3 – 0 Sunderland
Aditya: Leicester v Man City 0-3
The much-abused defense of Man City will survive against Leicester and it will be interesting to see what team would Guardiola introduce in the wake of the red cards.
Dirk: Leicester 1 – 3 Man City
City win here of course! Champions to relegation battlers for the Foxes. Mad season for them so far. Qualified for the last 16 in the Champions League but near the bottom of the EPL table. City will want to react after the frustrations against Chelsea and will put the Foxes to the sword. Missing Aguero but Kelechi has an opportunity to shine here and I expect him to do just that.
Marcel: Leicester 1 – 1 Man City
City’s recent record isn’t too impressive. An away draw against Gladbach is “okay”, but drawing to championship quality Celtic doesn’t fill one with confidence. Pep’s boys quickly followed those results up with a loss to Chelsea at home. No more than a point at the foxes for me.
RESULT: Leicester 4 – 2 Man City
Aditya:Chelsea v West Brom 3-1 WP
After defeating Man City, Chelsea will find it easy to sweep feisty west brom under the carpet .
Dirk: Chelsea 2 – 1 West Brom WP
Cesc is playing, of course there was no retrospective action here. FA doing what they always do…which is not enough. Chelsea to beat West Brom. The Baggies in a decent vein of form themselves. Hopefully they can put some pressure on Chelsea, but Chelsea should ease out a win at home.
Marcel: Chelsea 2 – 0 West Brom WP
Recently Chelsea struggled with WBA but that was before the arrival of Conte. I’m not sure what it takes to break the rhythm and success of the current Chelsea team but it needs to happen soon to stop them running away with the title.
RESULT: Chelsea 1 – 0 WBA
Aditya: Man United v Spurs 0-2
Cant see Mourinho’s luck changing anytime soon especially against a Spurs side which has not leaked a lot of goals.
Dirk: Man United 1 – 2 Spurs
It’s Kane vs Zlatan here! Pick of the weekend’s games really. United can’t seem to find a win right now, too many draws really, but Spurs I think will have too much firepower for Untied. Kane to win it here. Jose isn’t quite getting it right at Old Trafford at the moment, I can’t see that changing this weekend.
Marcel: Manchester United 1 – 0 Tottenham Hotspur WP + MP
Forget the nay-sayers, they just want you to buy into their wishful thinking. United are on fire. Going forward there are few teams that can’t rival the excitement and the chances United create. The problem is, literally, the house is on fire in the middle of defense until Bailly returns. Rojo needs to go and Fellaini must get in the sea. Then in January we’ll steal Payet away from West Ham.
RESULT: United 1 – 0 Spurs
Aditya: Southampton v Boro 2-0 WP
Southampton win comfortable with Redmond contributing would be the perfect antidote for my fantasy team.
Dirk: Southampton 1 – 1 Boro
Both teams been playing well, the Saints had a game to forget last time out though. Boro travel quite well, but they haven’t been clinical enough in front of goal. I think they’ll cancel each other out. Better result really for Boro.
Marcel: Southampton 1 – 0 Middlesbrough WP + MP
Which Southampton will turn up on the day? I don’t think Boro have a chance unless S’oton gift them a point.
RESULT: Southampton 1 – 0 Boro
Aditya: Liverpool v West Ham 3-1
Liverpool’s shock defeat in the match last week will spur them on to finally cope with the loss of Coutinho. Fancy Divock Origi to grab a couple (#optimism)
Dirk: Liverpool 2 – 1 West Ham
Tempted to say a draw here, but at home Liverpool should push onto a win. You can’t lose a 2 goal league every week can you? The Bournemouth result should drive them forward here, and get a win that will ask more questions of Bilic’s West Ham side. They need to start winning otherwise Payet will be moving come January.
Marcel: Liverpool 0 – 1 West Ham
What’s worse, losing a 2 goal lead to Bournemouth or being destroyed by an Armenian the week before? West Ham played fantastic football last season but this time around they finding it tough. Liverpool are without their only really good player. It’s a coin toss whether Payet can create something spectacular or Henderson’s tireless running and blind luck for Origi will lead to a goal. West Ham have won three of the last four meetings so I’ll give them the benefit.
RESULT: Liverpool 2 -2 West Ham United
