AFRICAN ENDURANCE CONFIRMS 14 MAY MOPAR CAPE 3 HOUR

The Mopar African Endurance Series has confirmed that the Mopar Cape 3 Hour will race at Killarney on Saturday 14 May. The November 9-hour date originally pencilled in for Killarney is now likely to move to Kyalami pending final arrangements and completion of the circuit and its facilities.

“Our 14 May date is now confirmed for Killarney,” series boss Roger Pearce confirmed before warning competitors: “Due to space restrictions we will only be able to accept the first 30 entries.”

The Mopar Cape 3 Hour will run at the end of Killarney’s regular 14 May Wingfield Power Series meeting, where local team Rico Barlow Racing will be out to defend its early championship advantage following Nick Adcock, Gavin Fourie and Simon Murray’s February Mopar 6 Hours of the Free State victory at Phakisa aboard the AidCall247 Ligier JS49.

The 2016 Mopar African Endurance series runs over six rounds with more exciting new entries expected across the Sports, GT and Saloon car classes as the season progresses, but the calendar has been in a state of flux for a variety of reasons. “Our discussions with Kyalami for November are ongoing and we hope that this date will be realised,” Pearce concluded.

“Our apologies for the delay in setting these dates but the circumstances under which the calendar is decided has been a little chaotic.”
