Fantasy Football: English Premier League
The FA have probably already ordered an extra roll of blue ribbon to adorn the league trophy because only a Spurs fan should believe that the Champions will be anyone but Chelsea by the time the English summer shows up at the end of May.
We’ve had a little break here with the Head2Head because logistically the amount of midweek fixtures don’t make sense but the tension is building among the chasing club’s fans and since Dirk supports City and Marcel supports United, the tensions are obvious as one of the top 5 is definitely going to miss out. To make it even more interesting, we have Sameer Naik back, a devoted Liverpool fan.
Sam: Hull City vs Watford: 2-1 WP
Hull City are in dire need of three points. They find themselves just two points above the relegation zone so a win is desperately needed. On the the other hand Watford have reached the 40 point mark and sit comfortable in tenth position. I see a hard fought three points for Hull at the KCOM Stadium
Dirk: Hull 1 – 0 Watford WP
Hull the side that deserve to stay up the most with the change that’s happened since Jan. I think they’ll have more fight about them against a Watford side relaxing into survival mode.
Marcel: Hull City 0 – 1 Watford
Difficult game to call now that Watford are safe from the drop. Hull improved a lot after Christmas but Watford were in the top 7 or 8 at some point. Watford should have too much quality about them but Hull are desperate for points. Could be quite watchable.
RESULT: Hull 2 – 0 Watford
Sam: Swansea City vs Stoke City: 1-0 WP
Its that time of the season again when teams in relegation fight tooth and nail for three points. I’m going for a Swansea win purely because they are now in dire need of a win to get out of relegation. Their form has been awful this season.
Dirk: Swansea 2 – 2 Stoke
Stoke were excellent last time out with excellent interplay up front. I think they’ll take this momentum into this game, but with Swansea having a lot still to fight for I think they could well nick a point at home. They’ll need more though.
Marcel: Swansea 0 – 0 Stoke
Last chance saloon for Swansea to avoid the drop. Stoke are practically safe needing just a point or two from their final five matches. Always better to pick them up before the final day. Neither team inspires me at the moment but Stoke have the better squad. It will depend who is fit to play for Swansea but I think a draw is on the cards.
RESULT: Swansea 2 – 0 Stoke
Sam: West Ham vs Everton : 2-2 WP
Everton and West Ham have had two very different seasons. The Hammers have battled all season while Everton have shown some class form under Ronald Koeman. Slav will be desperate to make amends after a woeful last couple of results. But they will only manage a draw against high flying Everton.
Dirk: West Ham 1 – 2 Everton
West Ham are not quite safe, but safe enough. They have been far from inspiring and Bilic will just be hoping to still be in the job come end of the season. Things are very different for Everton though, and they’ll be hoping to keep pressure on the rest of the top 6 to get results while they pile on the points.
Marcel: West Ham 0 – 1 Everton
Koeman has done one thing really well in my opinion. Everton no longer leak goals like they used to. Lukaku has always scored and this season he’s just stepped up a level, the results are going the Toffee’s way though because they holding out to win the points every week too.
RESULT: West Ham 0 – 0 Everton
Sam: Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough: 0-1
16th place vs 19th place! This should be a cracker of a game considering whats at stake. I’m going for a shocking win for Borough who have been woeful this season.
Dirk: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Boro
Even though Bournemouth have had some decent moments, their season seems to be coming to a quiet end. Boro on the other hand have a lot to play for, and I think this will be the difference on the day.
Marcel: Bournemouth 1 – 0 Middlesbrough WP
I watched Boro the other afternoon against Arsenal. Hopeless was one of the nicest descriptions I can come up with. Bournemouth are tough to beat away and if you score less than all the other 91 clubs in the professional leagues it’s unlikely you’re getting one in this fixture.
RESULT: Bournemouth 4 – 0 Boro
Sam: Burnley FC vs Man United 1-3 WP
As much as I would love to see Man United drop more points, I cant see it happening this weekend. While Burnley have been very good at home, I think Mourinho’s men will have a bit too much for them as they hunt down a top four spot.
Dirk: Burnley 1 – 2 Man United WP
Even though I’d love United to drop points, Burnely haven’t been surprising anyone lately. They will probably get a goal to give United a wake up, but can’t see anything more than that.
Marcel: Burnley 0 – 1 Manchester United WP
There are no easy matches on the run-in this season, we must just hope that the players don’t think the job is done after the demolition of Chelsea last time out. Burnley are a quality outfit at home and Mourinho will have to bring his best team to take all the points and keep the pressure on Liverpool.
RESULT: Burnley 0 – 2 Manchester United
Sam: Liverpool vs Crystal Palace: 3-1
There is just no way that my beloved Reds can drop points this weekend. LFC will be desperate to grab all three points against a tough Palace side as they chase down a spot in the top four. The good thing for us is that Sakho will not be eligible to play for Palace. The French defender has been the difference for Palace in the last month. I’m going to for a 3-1 win to the mighty Reds, with our Brazilians Coutinho and Firmino the difference between the two sides. LFC have learnt to win ugly and that will be needed against a resilient Palace team.
Dirk: Liverpool 2 – 0 Crystal Palace
Liverpool are seemingly keeping it together right now and hanging in the top 4. At home against an improved Palace side, it could well be entertaining but Liverpool should have enough about them to see it out.
Marcel: Liverpool 1 – 1 Crystal Palace
The last thing you want to do with a Champions League place on the line is run into desperate strugglers, especially when they have just discovered some form and can feel the shackles of relegation loosening. Anfield is still a tough place to visit but Palace will have the bit between their teeth.
RESULT: Liverpool 1 – 2 Crystal Palace

Well played Sam, shortened round full of upsets but you picked 4 correct results out of six. All that’s left to be added is maybe one day Benteke will play for a big club!
