It’s a pleasure to welcome my old friend and colleague from our days together at Bump nightclub, the one, the only, DJ Costa. You may remember Costa from Bump, the White Horse Inn or Bella Napoli depending on your age. These days the master of the mix is still playing gigs all over the place, follow his twitter feed or Facebook page for more details.
Costa is a staunch Liverpool supporter but we managed to get along for 5 years as we toiled through the night putting on a show for the youth of the millennium. Enough nostalgia, Costa will have his work cut out for him if he is going to match last week’s performance by Sam who was part of the tightest finish in a Head2Head we’ve ever had here at RRD.
Costa: AFC Bournemouth 2 – 0 Sunderland
Well this match could have been good, but Sunderland are once again fighting relegation which has become the norm for them and they are away to Bournemouth who have been playing some decent football, so I see this one going to Bournemouth 2-0
Dirk: Bournemouth 1 – 0 Sunderland
It’s Sunderland’s relegation tour. Bournemouth to pick up some solid points. Sunderland to question Moyes future.
Marcel: Bournemouth 2 – 0 Sunderland
A good friend of mine is a Sunderland supporter and it used to be fun reminding him of the predicament the black cats find themselves in every season. This season though their form is tragic and it’s getting desperate. I don’t think David Moyes is the right man to rescue them either. 10 games into the season it’s horrible for the fans and there’s no sign of things improving.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.65 / 4 / 5.6
RESULT: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Sunderland
— Burnley FC (@BurnleyOfficial) November 1, 2016
Costa: Burnley 2 – 1 Crystal Palace WP
This lower mid-table clash could prove interesting as Burnley have shown they are no push overs having just drawn away at Man U, beaten Everton 2 weeks ago & my team Liverpool having lost to them 2-0 . Crystal Palace have lost their last 3 games this should be a Burnley win 2-1
Dirk: Burnley 1 – 1 Palace
Burnley have been a lot better than I’d expected them to be. I think they’ll draw at home. Palace are wonderfully inconsistent and should do enough to pick up an away point here.
Marcel: Burnley 0 – 1 Crystal Palace
Palace has lost the last three to West Ham, Leicester and Liverpool. Burnley are tough opponents at home but not made of the same stuff as the other three. Palace will need to win to show intent and put in a dominant shift while they do it.
Sporting Bet Odds: 3.3 / 3.3 / 2.35
RESULT: Burnley 3 – 2 Crystal Palace
Costa: Man City 3 – 0 Middlesbrough
This one is easy Man City at home 3-0.
Dirk: Man City 3 – 0 Boro
Boro are improved but City have their groove back. City to dominate at home and win comfortably here.
— Manchester City (@ManCity) November 2, 2016
Marcel: Manchester City 2 – 0 Middlesbrough
City fans will expect a rout but Boro haven’t been humiliated once yet this season, even holding the gunners to a goalless draw so don’t expect silly scores. City are too good not to win though, two nil for me.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.22 / 6.5 / 15
RESULT: City 1 – 1 Boro
Costa: West Ham 0 – 1 Stoke
Stoke should win this one even they are way to West Ham. Stoke 1-0
Dirk: West Ham 1 – 1 Stoke WP + MP
Stoke have won three in a row, Arnautović will be a massive miss for Stoke. I think it will be a draw here.
Marcel: West Ham 0 – 1 Stoke
Stoke got hammered a few weeks ago shipping four goals twice but since their point at Old Trafford they’ve won three on the trot. Shaqiri picked up an injury on Monday which narrows the margin for me but I think they have enough to beat a faltering WHU at the moment.
Sporting Bet Odds: 2 / 3.6 / 4
RESULT: WHU 1 – 1 Stoke
Costa: Chelsea 2 – 0Everton WP
A top half of the table clash that should prove entertaining as Chelsea have won their last 4 games without conceding a goal, and Everton not showing any consistency, but the game will no be boring. Chelsea 2-0
Dirk: Chelsea 2 – 1 Everton WP
This could well go either way. Both teams have looked really good in recent weeks. Chelsea are the home team though and look in the mood to continue their good form.
Marcel: Chelsea 2 – 0 Everton WP
There’s something about Chelsea again. Conte has come to terms with his squad and is quite content playing counter-attacking football with very little possession and why wouldn’t you when your squad is filled with pace and skill.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.5 / 4.3 / 6
RESULT: Chelsea 5 – 0 Everton
Costa: Arsenal 1 – 0 Tottenham
Tough one to call here as there is a lot to play for being a London derby, but going on recent form I’d have to say Arsenal 1-0
Dirk: Arsenal 2 – 2 Spurs WP
This will be one fascinating derby! Spurs are unbeaten in the league but the last three have been draws, and Arsenal have looked really strong recently. I can see this being an entertaining draw as both go for bragging rights.
Marcel: Arsenal 1 – 1 Spurs WP+MP
Undoubtedly the fixture of the round. Spurs are the only unbeaten team left in the league and yet have dropped 6 points in their last three fixtures. The gunners are firing on all cylinders and playing open attacking football. Consequently, they have won 7 of their last 8 matches but I think Spurs are defensively more astute than most of their recent opposition.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.95 / 3.6 / 4
Costa: Hull City 1 – 1 Southampton
Hull in the bottom 3 and Southampton at 9th this should be a Southampton win but it’s an away game for them so I’m going to say a draw 1-1.
Dirk: Hull 0 – 1 Southampton
Saints here easily. Hull haven’t had enough about them lately and Saints have developed well under their new manager.
Marcel: Hull 0 – 1 Southampton
Seventh defeat in a row for Hull City. Eight defeat in nine fixtures. Relegation looms along with that other stripey team, Sunderland.
Sporting Bet Odds: 5.5 / 3.8 / 1.7
RESULT: Hull 2 – 1 Southampton
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) November 2, 2016
Costa: LIVERPOOL 3 – 1 Watford WP
Finally my team are the form team of the premiership at the moment (not jinxing anything), and remembering that Watford are playing some good football and lying 7th, I’m going to say Liverpool 3-1
Dirk: Liverpool 2 – 0 Watford WP
Liverpool at home are always difficult, and Watford can’t but together a decent run of form. Liverpool to win here comfortably.
Marcel: Liverpool 3 – 0 Watford WP
I like Watford ever since John Barnes played for them in the 80’s. Of course, he also played for Liverpool and I think they will dominate proceedings and score three at least.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.28 / 6 / 11
RESULT: Liverpool 6 – 1 Watford
Costa: Leicester City 1 – 0 West Brom
The champions are not playing as they were last season but should win this one.
Dirk: Leicester 2 – 1 West Brom
The foxes seem to be saving their form for Europe at the moment! West Brom have had moments of looking dangerous but haven’t maintained it at all.
Marcel: Leicester 1 – 0 West Brom
I expect a boring game. Leicester just not the team they were last season and WBA would park the bus if they had one big enough. So between WBA’s multiple minivans and Leicester’s poor form not much to shout about.
Sporting Bet Odds: 1.8 / 3.6 / 5
— Manchester United (@ManUtd) November 1, 2016
Costa: Swansea City 1 – 2 Man United WP
As much as I think Man U are a bunch of prima donna’s (don’t like them) and as I have Liverpool in my veins. Man U should win this one even though they are not playing as team but a bunch of as I said Prima Donna individuals. Man U 2-1
Dirk: Swansea 1 – 2 Man United WP
United need a win in the league – and Swansea are still finding their rhythm under their new manager. It could well be the result Jose needs. Jose’s ban might just be what the team needs here ironically…
Marcel: Swansea 0 – 1 Man United WP
Too many times we’ve seen United dominate the match and not get the result. Stoke, Burnley, Watford etc. Swansea is another team in desperate need of a win and new Bradley is not shy in getting forward. The pressure is mounting on Jose already with no win in four and while I expect United to have many chances again, converting them is the problem at the moment.
Sporting Bet Odds: 5 / 3.8 / 1.7
RESULT: Swansea 1 – 3 United
