This week we welcome a sports betting professional to the platform. Brandon has boldly declared he always wins, so we’ll have to put aside our silly petty Utd-City rivalry and focus on beating Brandon.
Brandon Booysen is a Chelsea supporter since 1997, he hastens to add “Chelsea is the only Premier League team I ever supported.” Brandon hopes to see Messi playing in the EPL with Chelsea one day, but we doubt the little Argentine will want to swap sunny Spain for London. You can follow Brandon on twitter.
Brandon: Bournemouth 1 – 1 Leicester City
Bournemouth were undone by a brilliant Burnley. Leicester looked like a Champion team as they cruised past Manchester City. James Vardy looks like he found this magic again. Leicester searching for their first away win of the season and I think they will not get it in this fixture.
Dirk: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Leicester
After Leicester’s return to form last weekend they’ll get through this one quite easily. They need some form again to see them out of the bottom of the table and this fixture would be well timed to give them some momentum.
Marcel: Bournemouth 1 – 1 Leicester City
Leicester played some dilly-dong football against City over the weekend, repeatedly ringing the Manchester club’s bell with super-quick 2015 style counter-attacking play. Nothing like a break from Champions League to re-invigorate their small squad. Bournemouth are a completely different kettle of fish at home, but equally dangerous on the counter.
Just for a laugh, we’ve got our dirty hands on Paul Merson’s picks via the Sky Sports website. We won’t copy his justification over for obvious reasons but we’re willing to copy the scores across and see how we fair.
Paul Merson says 2-1 for Bournemouth. We wonder if he knows Leicester didn’t play midweek football?
RESULT: Bournemouth 1 – 0 Leicester – well done Merse
Brandon: Everton 1 – 3 Arsenal
Everton are 5 games without a win, while Arsenal extend their unbeaten run in the league to 14 matches. Despite Everton’s poor overall form, they are still a strong team and unbeaten at Goodison Park. Arsenal playing excellent football at the moment and have the upper hand when playing at Everton.
Dirk: Everton 0 – 2 Arsenal
Everton are currently my biggest disappointment this season. So much potential with Koeman taking over but still nothing really to talk about. Arsenal are going strong and should continue their run of form with a win here.
Marcel: Everton 0 – 1 Arsenal
Everton’s best quality at the moment is defence. Their offence is nowhere and they’re a horrible side to watch as they bungle about while Koeman forces the board to free up funds to buy some new players in January by keeping his best creative talent, Barkley, on the bench.
Paul Merson says, 3-1 for Arsenal. As an ex-Arsenal player we expect nothing less but then why say it’s a tough game with a 2 goal margin? Backing both horses?
RESULT: Everton 2 – 1 Arsenal
Brandon: Middlesbrough 1 – 2 Liverpool WP
Middlesbrough find themselves at the wrong end of the table, lingering at 16th position of the league standings. Liverpool needs to bounce back to stay close to Top of the Table Chelsea. Both outfits with loads amount of injuries, but I think Liverpool with take all the points.
Dirk: Boro 1 – 1 Liverpool
Boro at home aren’t an easy game, even with Liverpool performing like they are – they do let in goals. I think they’ll cancel each other out here.
Marcel: Boro 0 – 2 Liverpool WP
What wouldn’t I give for Boro to sneak a draw here? I still think Liverpool have enough about them with a fit Lallana making up for the absence of Coutinho to see off Boro.
Paul Merson says Liverpool win 2-1. We’re in agreement here, pressure is on Liverpool now.
RESULT: Boro 0 – 3 Liverpool

Brandon: Sunderland 0 – 3 Chelsea WP
Its top vs bottom. Chelsea looks phenomenal this season, with Conte bringing the best out of players like Moses. Sunderland struggling with form and it look like another disappointing season for them. Costa to bully Sunderland and score a hat trick. Go Chelsea.
Dirk: Sunderland 1 – 2 Chelsea WP
Chelsea will win this comfortably. Sunderland has a spurt of form but that’ll seem like a distant memory against this well-oiled machine that is this Chelsea side.
Marcel: Sunderland 0 – 1 Chelsea WP + MP
I give up on Sunderland. When I back them against lower quality teams they lose, when i think they will get smashed they surprise me. It’s a Chelsea win because on current form they look like champions even with the error prone roving mop.
Paul Merson says Chelsea win by 2 to nil. Tight defense, havent conceded in a few, seems logical to us too.
RESULT: Sunderland 0 – 1 Chelsea
Brandon: West Ham United 2 – 1 Burnley WP
Burnley with a brilliant win at home against Bournemouth, but they have the worst away from in the league, conceding 15 on the road. West Ham with a very leaky defence and one of the worst in the premier league. West Ham to win this one, with Carrol on the scorecard.
Dirk: West Ham 2 – 1 Burnley WP
West Ham have been a strange side to watch moments of magic and moments of horror. They showed character against Liverpool though, if they can carry that through this busy festive period they could well find themselves much more comfortable come January. Win here for me.
Marcel: WHU 1 – 0 Burnley WP+MP
A glimmer of hope, a sliver or form? West Ham countered Liverpool superbly on Sunday. Burnley are a plucky side and respect to them but if Payet is raising him game in the hope of a move away in January there’s only one winner in this fixture.
Paul Merson says WHU win 2-0.
RESULT: West Ham Utd 1 – 0 Burnley
Brandon: Crystal Palace 3 – 2 Manchester United
Manchester United and Crystal Palace have both suffered very disappointing Premier League seasons thus far. Man united last defeat was against Chelsea in late October and I reckon Palace going to nick this match. This will be the match to watch.
Dirk: Palace 2 – 2 Man Untied
Zaha has been in excellent form and this is a game where he’ll want to show what he can do. United have been a lot better lately but it’ll be a difficult afternoon for them. 2-2 entertaining draw.
Marcel: Crystal Palace 0 – 2 United WP
Class performance on Sunday against Spurs, promise in every match since the defeat to Chelsea while Palace have barely managed to hang on to their own hopes. It’s going to be one-way traffic at Selhurst Park, and all towards Speroni.
Paul Merson says United win 2-1. Suddenly we think he does know what he is talking about, imagine that.
RESULT: Palace 1 – 2 United, good call Merse

Brandon: Manchester City 4 – 0 Watford WP
Man City with another blow on Saturday against Leicester and now 7 points adrift of League leaders Chelsea. Watford finds themselves in 7th place and they look quite impressive. I feel a draw but I will go with a home victory with Nacho scoring a few.
Dirk: Man City 2 – 0 Watford WP + MP
After two extremely disappointing results, pressure will be on City to react. Watford will have picked the wrong time to visit Manchester. Predict a much needed win for the Citizens.
Marcel: Man City 2 – 0 Watford WP + MP
This is a strange match to predict. It should be straightforward, City to win and win big but Watford are playing really well. Fantastic result against the toffees last out while City were outplayed Leicester style by the Foxes. Can Pep change the mindset of his players? Can he save the season, or are City their own worst enemies until the European dream is over?
Paul Merson says City win 2-0. We think he’s been looking at our notes.
RESULT: City 2 – 0 Watford – 3 of us picked it spot on
Brandon: Stoke City 1 – 1 Southampton WP
You just never know with Stoke, the most unpredictable team in the league. Southampton are no different. Very difficult one to predict and I will go with a draw.
Dirk: Stoke 1 – 1 Southampton WP
Interesting game, but for me it’ll be a draw. Both mid-table teams fighting to be a bit more than that.
Marcel: Stoke 2 – 1 Southampton
Where to start with these two? I just rolled a dice and came up with two numbers, it could just as well have been six all. In fact, these two could probably score half a dozen each and leak just as many in the same game.
Paul Merson says Stoke win 2-0. Marcel said he wants to change his prediction now.
RESULT: Stoke 0 – 0 Southampton
— Hull City (@HullCity) December 10, 2016
Brandon: Tottenham Hotspur 2 – 0 Hull City WP
Mauricio Pochettino must be bitterly disappointed with the display of his players at Old Trafford after losing 1-0. Hull currently 19th on the log, I can’t see them taking any points from this fixture. Tottenham bounce back with a victory.
Dirk: Spurs 2 – 1 Hull WP
Spurs were good against United but not good enough. Hull will be an easier test that they will win.
Marcel: Spurs 2 – 0 Hull WP
Spurs are probably the best balanced team in the league. Great attack, great midfield, fantastic defense and a top class goalkeeper. It’s no real surprise they are at the top challenging for honours again this season, all they need is to stay injury free and grind out some results others can’t. Hull will battle valiantly but in vain.
Paul Merson says Spurs win 3-0. North London is white this week?
RESULT: Spurs 3 – 0 Hull – spot on Merse
— West Bromwich Albion (@WBA) December 11, 2016
Brandon: West Bromwich Albion 0 – 0 Swansea City
I expect a very tough football match between these two teams. Lately both sides has been playing play solid football. I expect very aggressive playing football from both sides, especially in midfield. I think I will go with a draw here.
Dirk: West Brom 1 – 1 Swansea
Both teams are looking quite strong for this part of the season, I got a feeling they’ll match each other.
Marcel: WBA 2 – 2 Swansea
WBA have been putting in some top shifts recently. I know I said some terrible things about their style early in the season but it is effective. Fletcher hasn’t missed a game since moving form United. WTF?! Swansea can still fall into the sea but they have discovered an attacking style recently and if they can keep it tidy they are a threat.
Paul Merson says WBA win 2-0. We’re all on the fence here but Merse has the bit between the teeth.
RESULT: WBA 3 – 1 Swansea, good call Merse
