This weekend is round 26 of a hugely entertaining season of English Premier League football.

In the spirit of inviting as many football fans as possible to play Head2Head with us, we’ve invited David from Liverpool.

David regularly attends live matches at Anfield when he can get his hands on tickets. His obsession with the club started only 6 or 7 years ago when he learnt of the club’s rich footballing history. Some of his first memories are of the Carling Cup final in 2012 and the FA Cup semi-final of the same year against Chelsea. Some might think a 6 or 7 hours trip to Wembley is over the top, but we’re all football fans here! You can follow David on twitter.

David: Chelsea 3-1 Swansea WP + MP

Swansea have been somewhat revived by Paul Clement and results have improved, but i can only see this one going the way of the champions elect.

Hard to imagine Paul Clement celebrating like this, after the Chelsea match

Dirk: Chelsea 2 – 1 Swansea WP

I think Swansea in their current form can take the game to Chelsea but at home Chelsea will have enough to get the three points.

Marcel: Chelsea 2 – 1 Swansea WP

Swansea are much improved and might push the leaders for the whole match but in the end I expect the home team to win the game at Stamford Bridge. It would be great for everyone else if they slip up but they have a very talented squad.

RESULT:  Chelsea 3 – 1 Swansea

David: Palace 0-2 Boro’

Palace are struggling and i’m tipping them for the drop. Boro’ are a strong, organised side and I can see them getting the better of palace (especially if Negredo hits top form)

Dirk: Palace 1 – 2 Boro

It was a league one side but Boro scored three and this is exactly what their misfiring strikers needed. Palace have been nowhere lately, and I don’t think this will change. Massive three points here for Boro. More pressure on Big Sam.

Marcel: Crystal Palace 1 – 0 Boro WP + MP

Palace have to win against their immediate survival contenders if they want to stay up. Boro haven’t won a match since thumping Swansea the week before Christmas and there’s no reason to think that will change this week.

RESULT: Palace 1 – 0 Boro

David: Everton 2-1 Sunderland WP

Everton are one of the form teams in the league and I see them edging this one. Sunderland are in a rot and will try to be organised defensively. With Defoe they always have a chance, but I’m tipping Everton to get another win.

Dirk: Everton 2 – 1 Sunderland WP

Everton been hanging about just outside the top 6 and will be looking to hold onto being the best of the rest. Sunderland are improved but I don’t think they can win at Goodison.

Marcel: Everton 1 – 0 Sunderland WP

From a prediction point of view, these are two really frustrating sides. Neither one can string a run of results together and that’s why Everton are not challenging the top four and Sunderland can’t quite escape the clutches of the relegation zone. Defoe will probably wind up with a hat-trick and Everton will have a player red-carded after I picked them.

More English weather for Everton?

RESULT: Everton 2 – 0 Sunderland

David: Hull 1-1 Burnley WP + MP

One of the most improved teams are Hull, under Marco Silva. Burnley have been woeful away from home and will still be suffering from their FA cup shock. Both teams have people capable of getting goals and are very organised defensively. Hence, i’m going for a draw int his one.

Dirk: Hull 1 – 0 Burnley

Both teams in good form in the EPL but Burnley struggle away from home. I don’t think their lose in the FA Cup will have helped either. I think Hull will pick up the win at home.

Marcel: Hull 2 –  1 Burnley

It’s probably safe to go for a draw here since Burnley hardly ever win away and Hull, though improving lack consistency. Perhaps the win over Liverpool can still offer some inspiration while Burnley might be a bit shell-shocked after losing to non-league Lincoln in the FA Cup. I don’t play safe, Hull to win.

RESULT: Hull 1 – 1 Burnley

David: Watford 1 – 3 West Ham

West ham have been so much better since Payet left and seem more like a real team. Watford have some good new signings in forwards areas, but I can see their defensive problems costing them here.

Dirk: Watford 1 – 1 West Ham WP + MP

A draw because well, who the hells knows with these two. They’re both capable of brilliance but they also can be seriously lacklustre and uninspired. A draw for me.

Marcel: Watford 2 – 1 West Ham

This match has the potential to be a cracker. Watford’s form is almost unpredictable, wins against Arsenal and Burnley were followed by a shut-out loss at Old Trafford means anything is possible when West Ham sans Payet visit.

Blowing bubbles …RESULT: Watford 1 – 1 West Ham

David: West Brom 2-1 B’mouth WP + MP

West Brom come into this game over-achieving in many ways. Tony pulis has them well drilled all over the pitch. Defensively, they are as solid as anyone. They have quality in Chadli, Phillips and Rondon, going forward, and are always a threat from set-pieces. I think they’ll be too good for B’mouth.

Dirk: West Brom 2 – 0 Bournemouth WP

West Brom win here all day. Bournemouth out of form and missing important players – their lack of depth showing. West Brom playing excellently and will carry on their good form here.

Marcel: WBA 1 – 0 Bournemouth WP

This is one of the matches I won’t be watching although WBA are a well-oiled machine lately, I just don’t enjoy their workman like approach. Tony Pulis has his team extremely well organised but at the cost of flair.

RESULT: WBA 2 – 1 Bournemouth

David: Spurs 4 – 1 Stoke

Spurs have the strongest starting 11 in the league, in my opinion, and I can’t see them slipping here. Stoke are a decent team, but Spurs are a class above them. Should be easy for Tottenham.

Dirk: Spurs 2 – 0 Stoke

Spurs improving and at home should be strong enough to get past Stoke. Stoke improving and especially strong at home, but Spurs on form can beat everyone.

Marcel: Spurs 2 – 0 Stoke City

Harry Kane found his shooting boots over the weekend and I can’t see Stoke being able to stop the North Londoners. There is a lot of quality in the Spurs side and under Pocchetino they are playing like real contenders.

David: Leicester 0 – 3 Liverpool

We’ve looked better defensively and Leicester are massively low on confidence. With Mane back and Phil & Bobby around him, i think we’ll have too much quality going forward. They often shoot themselves in the foot by being too open and I can see us taking advantage of their defensive problem. I’m going for a comfortable win for the redmen.

Dirk: Leicester 1 – 2 Liverpool

Another loss in the FA Cup is not what Leicester needed. Liverpool lost momentum but Mane seems to be bringing that back for them. Important and much needed win for them here.

Marcel: Leicester 0 – 2 Liverpool

It’s been a significant break without football for Liverpool since their win last out and this is probably exactly what they needed. Leicester are woeful of late and even at home I can’t see the foxes being able to withstand the full frontal assault of Klopp’s men.

Result: Leicester City 3 – 1 Liverpool
